Cheat Days

Do you allow yourself a cheat day? If so, how often? Once a week, once a month? Or do you zig zag your calories?

I have a cheat day every saturday. I usually eat whatever I want, but I don't go overboard. It hasn't hindered my weight loss at all.

Sorry - I don't believe in cheat days - if you cheat, you cheat yourself. Everybody has a day now and then when they go over their calories some but that's different, in my opinion. If you want to eat or drink something, and have the calories for it then fine. If you don't, maybe you need to think about eating it. Just my opinion.

I'm not so much into cheat days as I am cheat meals. Although I believe both are good for a healthy weight loss. I probably do 2 cheat meals a week.

So i just did. didn't plan it. my daughter and i were out shopping and went to red robin, she loves it there and i thought oh that sounds good so i got a turkey burger on chiabata bread and the fries... i get home and wow i'm still under my cals. it took most of my workout points to make it ok but hey that's ok in my book.

I don't plan on them, but I also have some kind of treat within my calories almost every single day! I take this seriously, but not so seriously that I have to deprive myself all week/month just to have a day where I eat like a maniac. If I want to eat like a maniac, I go to the gym and burn 700+ calories! :)

I used to do cheat days, but they would set me back a week or two with the scale :(

Now, I pretty much eat whatever I want as long as it fits into my calorie/carb goals. I do tend to avoid pasta, potatoes, and bread. But if I really want it, and it fits my days goals, then I just have it :) Makes the whole lifestyle change a whole lot easier for myself :)

Just for an example, on Wednesday I ordered pizza and had two slices for supper. There were left overs, so I had two slices for lunch the next day too. On Monday I weighed 139.9 and today I weigh 138.0. So my pizza didn't wreck my whole week, and I ate what I felt like eating.

So maybe try fitting the foods you love into your daily plan? Less likely to fall off the wagon that way as well :)

Every Saturday and its a free for all, eat whatever I want but I should say I do NOT eat my exercise calories back during the week. Down 17.4 lbs, I must be doing something right :)
  • I'm a firm believer that everything is fine in moderation, so I have a cheat meal every once in a while. I don't have entire cheat days, though, because I never feel the need to have one. Healthy eating has definitely become a habit for me by now.

I don't have a cheat day, not a 'cheat' meal, but if I want something I'll have it. I simply enjoy everything in moderation, and make active decisions.

I allow myself one cheat meal per week, so far it's been on Fridays, though I can see adjusting it to a different day to allow for things like a birthday or other special occasion. I try to keep the overage to 1500 or less calories over my daily goal. So far I've been steadily losing.
  • My cheat days are when either I am visiting family or they are visiting me. So there can be large gaps when I'm being good and not cheating so it levels out and I've lost 6lbs in 60 days so it can't be that bad:happy:
