I just started my diet on tuesday. I started at 1400 calories but it was really hard to push myself to eat that
much so reduced it to1200 calories with a 2 pound loss a week and am doing well with it. It forces me to stop
eating at night. I have a really hard time drinking water I just hate it. Mostly drink arizona green tea and coffee.
Any ideas how to get around this without consuming the extra calories?

You can add fruit to the water, strawberries, raspberries etc. Helps give it a different taste but you still get the water intake. Lemons, limes and cucumbers are nice and refreshing in water too!0

I put lemon juice in my water. It helps me. I hate boring water.0

I find it easier to drink water when it is ICE cold and from a bottle as opposed to out of a glass. Maybe try flavored waters. Some are very low in calories.0

A little lemon or lime juice goes a long way. Also sugar free drink mix - just a little - helps me0

Put a lime in it and ice, water taste better with ice. Limes help with seasonal allergys as well.0

I'm not a plain water lover either, but tolerate it best when it's super cold. I do love plain sparkling water and make it at home with my SodaStream. I also make unsweetened iced tea (Paradise is my favorite) and keep a pitcher of that in the fridge all the time. So I trade off among the three: really cold flat water, sparkling water, and iced tea.0

It was really hard for me to drink plain water too. Myfitnesspal helps because I am actually keeping track and taking note of how short I am of the 8 cup goal. I was told to drink a cup of water immediately when you wake up in the AM because you slept all that time without drinking anything. I tried lemon and limes, still I got sick of that too, tried fun water bottles, but in the end, the only thing that worked was just drinking it. I carry a bottle with me everywhere.0

Use the Crystal Light packets that are like 5 calories.0

Just keep a bottle or cup with you and sip on it throughout the day, it will add up. Also, if you are drinking things that don't contain sugar or caffeine for example, crystal lite, you can count them toward your water.0

^^^ I have two bottles that i fill with water and alternate them, so when i drink one, there's another waiting for me in the fridge :happy:0 -
Talking Rain makes a completely unsweetened seltzer flavored with fruit juice. Mostly, I still treat water as an ingredient though. Someday it will move into the beverage category.0

I do 4C Diet Decaf Iced Tea (decaffinated and sweetened w/ Splenda) - I am not a water drinker either and I can always do my 8+ glasses of that a day instead....0

I keep a one quart insulated mug with a straw at work all day (with a straw) I use the tricks others have mentioned, like fruit or lemon/lime. Also, Vitamin Water Zero sweetened with stevia, not artificial sweeteners, or LeCroix sparkling flavored waters. Club soda with some 100% cranberry and lime juice with some stevia makes a great "mocktail". I also drink unsweetened Ice tea, very weak, with lime or lemon. Many people think it's easier to drink more water through a straw. I like it that way. Keep trying until you :drinker: find what works for you.0

Thanks everyone for the great advice!! I am drinking water with two strawberry's and equal with some lemon. It is just what I needed I have already drank 32 oz. I am going to try the cucumber slices just have to go shopping. I haven't even consumed any green tea today lol Thank you all so much.0

I was not a water drinker, either. I found that the less pop I drank and the more I made myself drink water, I came to enjoy the water more. I also tend to drink more water when I drink it from a straw. One other tidbit: I do have well water (which I think tastes so much better than "city" water. So, since I cannot stand the taste of the water I work, I actually either bring water from home by filling a gallon thermos with ice water or I fill three 20 oz bottles and place in my large lunch box.0
