I've asked this in other open hrm threads but havn't gotten an answer yet. I am looking at purchasing a polar but not quite sure of which model to get yet(ft4/ft7/ft60 are looking good).
Do any of them do this? I think it would be cool to be able to leave it on all day and see how many calories you burned total. Pretty much you TDEE. Does the fitbit do this? One ft7 owner told me that model only gives calories burned when your heart rate goes up(during exercise) so that would not do the whole day monitor.
Is this a crazy request from a hrm? Nobody seems to have asked this before that I can find. Thanks for any help.

I have an FT7, I wore mine all day (12 hours) when I was doing nothing but sitting on the couch and doing algebra homework and it gave me a little over half my BMR in calories burned. I don't know about wearing it 24/7 but the whole day cal burn was pretty close to what I "should" be burning.0

Really? I wander if they have ironed out the problems I have read regarding fitbits. Does it work just like any other hrm? using chest strap ect.?0 -

I use a polar.. and it is designed only to track exercise, not to wear it all day, at least my ft4 is0
