Another binger here! ....... Since starting to count calories, it's shocks me when I think about what I was probably actually consuming in one sit down."

I'm a binger as well. I've found that I have trigger foods and I try not to have them in the house, going to the store to buy them is a lot harder. Someone said one day at a time (Just like AA) and that's how I try to look at it. I can do this just for today, which turns into weeks, which turns into months, which turns into years, and hopefully, a lifetime.
And remember, if you fall off the wagon, don't beat yourself up, just hop right back on.0 -
I am also a binge eater. feel free to add me if you want. I'm trying my hardest not to be one anymore.0

Nocturnal eating is a syndrome. Visit your doctor, he may have something that will help. Blessings!0

Yep me too.....I can go ages without doing it then something pushes me over the edge and then I just go bonkers and can eat what would take any normal person 5 days to eat....I can inhale it in an evening!0

Oh yes, I'm definitely a binge eater. Give me an excuse, i.e. anger, nerves, depressed, you name it and I use it as an excuse. The thing I love about MFP is that I do sign in every day and I do log what I eat. People say keep a journal. That doesn't work for me. I need to see it add up right in front of me.
No matter what, if you do binge, just remember that tomorrow is another day. Never give up!!!!!0 -
Welcome, It may help when you start logging everything you eat, good luck you can do it! Feel free to add me0

I am a binge eater, too!! I have a terrible time with moderation. It's much easier for me to cut something out entirely than try to moderate it.
You know how people always say "just have one brownie if you really want it, so it will get rid of your craving" ? Noooo. I don't do one brownie. I do one PAN of brownies!!! So.... I just avoid the bad stuff entirely. It's safer that way.
And yes, I couldn't agree more that I would probably faint if I knew the amount of calories I have consumed in one sitting, especially since my biggest binges were with the foods that are the absolute worst for me - Krispy Kreme doughnuts, brownies, cake, etc.
I'm really hoping that logging in every mouthful and having a lot of support from fellow MFP members will make the difference and help me stay on target! :happy:0 -
I share your pain. Add me for support if you like my diary is open in the hopes that it will keep me motivated.0

I just found this group. I'm a binge eater, too. I keep telling myself that food has never solved any of the problems for which I binge. the people in my life do not behave any better because I eat 4 tablespoons of peanut butter, etc. I'm glad to be here for the support.0
