What music motivates you?

Options
I love cardio, but I wouldn't survive without music. I use it to keep myself distracted from the terrible music the gym is playing, to keep myself motivated in a lot of cases, and to challenge myself to keep up with the pace for at least the duration of the song.

My top 5:
PF Project ft. Ewan McGregor - Choose Life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nS1qBrrb1w4
Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl6RJyZdBSU
Drowning Pool - Bodies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgkkdiPPNo8
The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRYNYb30nxU
Brokencyde - Freaxx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8F5YSA1Oz0

What music motivates you to keep going or push harder?

I know it's not for many, but I find that dubstep is great for me in all types of concentration-necessary situations. For working out, I love the constant rhythm, the build up, and then the "bass drop" which is almost like an audio kick to my workout. Love it :)

I love music that is extremely bubbly. Faster music gets me going--not sure why. Most of the stuff that I listen to comes from Japanese pop songs or just about anything techno-ish from the DDR games.
  • Taio Cruz gets me movin!

Fast paced music, usually with lots of decent bass and good beats. So normally that would include lots of EBM & Industrial type stuff.

I listen to a variety of Music, but the best songs for me when I work out are the songs that send a message to me, pushing me to do better for myself and keep working. But when I do the elliptical, I usually put on Netflix to give myself something other than a wall to look at.

I'll listen to anything. I just turn up the music so loud that it makes my ears hurt...that way I don't feel the pain of the exercise

RockMyRun.com has a bunch of great workout mixes. My go-to mix is "Push the Tempo" by DJ JLouis.

If you make an account, you'll get one free credit a month that is good toward mix downloads!
