Hi. I started seriously working on my weight loss about 6 weeks ago. I was doing okay but realized I really needed to do tracking of both my calories and my weight in something better than just my memory. Looking online, I found this site about a week ago.
Perfect! What a help to be able to have the computer keep me honest with my calories (as long as I log them).
Just one question for the moment .... I listed my starting weight from 6 weeks ago and then started logging here, so it looks like I've dropped all my weight in under a week. Is there a way to change the start date to when i actually started the new lifestyle eating instead of when I started on this website.

There's no way to change your starting date, but don't worry about it. You earned the credit for dropping those pounds and in time it won't make any difference. I started losing weight several weeks before I found MFP and at first I used the starting weight for MFP instead of my real starting weight. until I realized that my weight loss was mine, so I changed the starting weight.
Now that I've been doing this for months, it doesn't matter whether it's five months or six. i plan to keep on losing until I reach my goal and keep the weight off so who cares when i started.
This is a great site. It changed my life. I have learned so much here and have gotten so much encouragement and support. I wish the same for you.
Take it one day at a time
Take baby steps
Stay open minded to new ideas
Drink a lot of water:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
It helps me to log my food before I eat it so there will be no surprises
It also helped to find a group on the message boards and check in with them every day

Go to My Home, Check In, Edit previous entries, you can enter as far back as you like. You will still show as joined in July however. Welcome to MFP!!0

Hi,
I'm new here too. Found this site kast week. Began tracking my food intake about 2.5 weeks ago.
Have to get my old body back. The 1 i used to have when i was a gym-a-holic ( >20 hours per week ) and beach bum LOL.
Need to do this for myself, my health and for my daughter.
Still trying to find out how the site works. Will get there eventually ...
