I am 35, a wife, and mother of three ages 13, 14, and 15. I am not just obese I am morbidly obese and I hate it. I have always been a big girl but when I was younger I had much more muscle tone. But the older I get the heavier I seem to be and the harder it is to get rid of the weight. I now find myself with over one hundred and fifty punds to loose. Thats crazy I know, thats another person I have been carrying around.
I work full time with an hour commute each way. When I get home I am so mentally drained I rarely have the energy to cook supper much less exercise. But I am here with the desire to loose the weight and to feel better. I know that I can't do it on my own. I need encouragement and motivation. I need help holding myself accountable. I lost 30lbs this time last year but I have gained it all back. I always seem to sabatage myself. Is there anyone out there who can help me.

Hello,
I just want to encourage you to be patient with yourself and work on making small changes. We know and hear it all the time about how what we eat plays a major role in weight loss or gain so I'd say make small changes by incorporating more fresh fruits and veggies into your diet, cut out white breads, pasta, rice, etc. and do all wheat bread, pasta, and brown rice but smaller portions. Start out by trying to commit to working about at least 15 minutes a day. Go to www.collagevideo.com to find fitness dvds that suit your lifestyle/interests, and make small changes by maybe taking the stairs instead of the escalator, parking further away from the stores, walking around your block or to the corner and back until you get to a point where you feel you can do more. Making small changes can lead to bigger changes. Be patient for the process but be consistent. Start today if you can. Don't put off what you can do today for tomorrow because then you may delay even further.
Be encouraged and know that you are valuable at any size but you just want to do what you need to for overall health.. I wish you luck.0 -

Hi. I am 27 years old and trying to lose weight myself. I weigh 162 and have at least 20 pounds to lose to be at a good weight loss goal and where I am supposed to be for my height. I have lost 17 pounds since Sept and have been able to keep it off and that was even without exercise. My secret? Counting calories. I ate 1500 cal/day. I got off the wagon and now trying to get back on because I get married in November and want to feel beautiful and feel healthy. I know how it is to hate to exercise and I have a hard time saying no to good tasting foods. I hope I can make my goal and you can also make a change in your life.0

I started MFP at the end of January last year and lost 30lbs. I've put 25lbs back on in the last 5 months or so, for various reasons, one of which is also self-sabatage, so I understand that aspect. I'm starting from scratch again, taking it in baby steps because I don't have the same motivation I did before.
This is an awesome site with amazing people. My only advice is to just keep on going, keep on tracking, keep on exercising. Just keep on keeping on!
Feel free to add me as a friend! WE CAN DO THIS!0 -
I started at one point weighing 330 and now am at 212...you can do it, just take small goals one at a time and be persistent.0

hi there. im 37 and started at 242, currently at 217 and want to be at 170. its hard staying morivated. i have 2 boys, 3 and 9mths and i also work fulltime where im sitting at a desk concentrating on a screen all day. i know its very hard and very tiring. i lost alot of weight too before but it all crept back on with pregnancy and bad habits. the last time i lost it i was losing 3-5 pounds a week but this time im aiming for 1 pound at a time. try not to look at the big picture and aim for the pound at a time. i really find this site brilliant and the encouragement is second to none! feel free to accept me as a friend! patience is the key really and believe me i have struggled with this!! wishing you all the best and hope you give this a shot!!0

Hey!
As others have said - with some patience and the dedication you sound like you have you'll find the weight slipping off! Feel free to add me, I'm active and always looking for more active/dedicated friends0 -
you can surely add me....i need all the support and help too. I have gained and lost weight so many times it's pathetic. I seem to always get down and one thing sets me off to eat everything i gained back plus always about 5 to 10 more pounds. So I start all over again.....since Jan. 23 I have lost 23 pounds and feel good but always fear of going backwards again....
We can all do this, i look at the post and see before and after pics and it's truely amazing and I also hear everyone has the same problems I do and we can all do it helping each other. Good Luck!0
