Weighted Sports Hula Hoop!

I just ordered my first "Weighted Sports Hula Hoop for Weight Loss - Acu Hoop 3L - 3 lb. large"
I used to hula all the time and went and bought a kiddy one from kmart, yup, piece of crap! Found this online and can't WAIT for it to arrive, here's what I've learned about it.
I've looked up it burns about 7 cal. a min! This hoop is curved and will give you bruises if you are not careful and read directions before starting! The weight will help tone your ab muscles more than a regular hula hoop. It's recommended 3-5 minutes the first week. I read great reviews, obviously not for children. The website will help you find the one that fits you based on height and weight.
WHO LIKES TO HULA?!

I have one! i have the 4lb hula hoop. I havent used it much because its too big/wide for me. I think i bought the wrong weight. I should've got 2lb or 3lb. It was a workout to my midsection the few times i used it.0

Awesome! When I looked it up it said I should get the 4lb one but I think I'm going to start off at a lower pound cause I was right on the border between the two.0

I've got one and it's just over 2.5 pounds. Before buying I heard a lot about the high calorie burns but it definitely depends on how much you're moving around while hooping. If you just stand there your heart rate won't be as high (at least mine isn't) and I burn less calories. Sometimes I wear my HRM while hooping and it's always interesting to see the results. Today I hooped for 15 minutes and burned 61 calories (I moved back and forth a lot, did some squat/lunge type actions while hooping, etc.) but before I've burned 90 calories in the same amount of time. It definitely depends on how much you move but it's great because it's fun and you actually want to do it! I know my core has gotten stronger from it though0

Thanks for your comment! I hula hoop now but never had a weighted hoop, I'm glad to hear it made your core stronger.0
