what do you do if you have already worked out, its the end of the day, and youve already met your calorie intake? I have tried drinking water but its just not hitting the spot. I am soo hungry...i am breastfeeding, but i account 350 calories per day for that....but how do i know im not hungry because i could be burning more than that from breastfeeding...or could it just be typical hungry and im good?...im so hungry but i did so well today....

  • If I'm hungry late in the evening, I eat a healthy snack and log it under the next day's breakfast... but I'm bad like that. ;)

Without knowing your stats and how much you've already eaten today, it's hard to give advice.
As you are breastfeeding, I would err on the side of caution and eat a little more - try some nuts, they are pretty calorie dense and I find that a few of them fills me up if I'm a bit hungry at the end of the day.
  • I am a firm believer in listening to your body, especially since you are breastfeeding. It is very easy to overestimate or underestimate your calories burnt throughout the day, nor are they are going to be the same each day. So if you are hungry I would surely go get a healthy snack for you and the baby:)

If water isn't doing it, maybe try a caffeine free tea? that usually helps me since it has a flavor to it. Everyone is different though, and doesn't respond to the same things. Good luck!

Eat more protein, animal protein. Stay away from anything that even tastes sweet, even if it has 1 calorie.

A cup or a half cup of lowfat milk usually does it for me - but that can be calorie steep.

You could also try to munch on some cucumbers, peppers, celery, brocolli, or asparagus - all are filling and barely have any calories.

I would stay away from baby carrots, fruit, and breads as the sugar/carbs can make you feel hungry again faster.
  • I fight the urge lol but im not brest feeding lol maybe try going to the gym earlier so you can eat after? i dont eat anything after 7 pm. and a strict 1200 cals a day and then i work out at night as well. maybe even call your Dr. :)

Are you getting enough fiber and protein and healthy fat throughout the day? All those things will help with satiety.
