How important is it to eat after a gym session?

I get out of the gym around 8 or 9 at night - should I be eating after this? I'm usually not in the mood for food.

I do 4x a week cardio and 2x a week strength training.

    Bump! I also have this issue. I exercise between 7-9 pm usually, with 4-5 days/ week cardio and 2-3 days/ week free weights/light strength (bodyweight). Im usually either really hungry but dont eat because its really late and I cant sleep well or I am not hungry at all. At times I drink a juice (apple, pear and cranberry mix).
