IS TOO MUCH EXERCISE DAMAGING???

Hi,
I try to exercise between 1.5 - 2 hours (first thing in the morning, about an hour whilst my toddler children are in nursery) and once everyone is in bed) a day. My exercise consists of: -
30 - 45 minutes on gazelle/air strider
20 minutes weights
20 minutes of boxing
20 minutes cardio
10 minutes abs
10 - 20 minutes warm up/cool down
I always try to mix it up so everyone muscle group gets a workout.
I do this everyday with exception to Saturday and normally burn between 600 - 1000 calories. Is this too much as my weight does have a tendancy to fluctuate. No, I don't eat all my exercise calories back but do always try to eat above my BMR.
Thank you

Are you getting tired, weak, or dreading the workout?
If yes, then yes.
If no, then no.0 -
Thanks. I do get tired but that is probably because I have two toddlers, the eldest who is disabled and has severe learning difficulties. Sometimes I do dread the workout but once I get going, I am fine.0

It all depends on your recovery. Some of us recover faster than others but it's mostly based on age, intensity of the workout, and diet.
If you feel fully recovered, energized and motivated to workout the next day, then keep at it.
Good luck!0 -
Personally I try not to stay in the gym more than an hour-1.5hrs and I do not hit the same body parts back to back days, unless I am playing basketball but I dont count that as going specifically to get a workout. If it were me I would think I was doing too much but I dont think its that bad.0

Too much exercise is just as bad as not enough! However, how much is too much depends on the person.
Looks like you have a demanding schedule, but if you are able to keep up with it, then great for you! Just remember, working hard is good, pain is bad. If it becomes too much, back off a little!0 -
Too much exercise is only damaging in that you run a greater risk for injury. If you are extra vigilant with safety and form throughout your workout, and stop when you don't think you can do something safely, you'll be fine.0
