Well after losing 82lbs and reaching my goal of 205 lbs, I am thrilled with the results but I have an inch or more of lose skin in some area's. Has anyone that has lost a significant amount of weight and had some lose skin left over had their skin shrink or tighten up in time? Thanks.

yup. I'm in that boat. From what I've read, loose skin will shrink up to a certain extent depending on age and amount of weight loss. I myself never got rid of it all, at least not yet. Still hopefull, although it has been a year since I lost 100 pounds, I still have a bit around my waist line.

Exactly What I'm trying to do as well ! LOL I've got nothing better to do for the next few years. We'll have to start an over-40 bodybuilders thread.

First of all, CONGRATS on such an extreme loss!!! You must be sooo proud!!! :drinker:

I lost 162 lbs and have so much sagging skin that you can't see my belly button. My doc says I have around 15-20 lbs of just skin that can only be removed with surgery. I have heard from several people on here that exercising helps quite a bit. My first go around I lost the 162 without exercise because I was a full time college student. I didn't have time to work out. Its now been about 5 years since I lost all of that weight, and the skin is still there. I have gained 40 back that I am now trying to lose again. This time I WILL be incorporating exercise. Hopefully it will help a little, but I know it wont' get rid of it all. I hope you are able to get rid of yours!!! Good luck! You look incredible by the way!

I think I have been lucky so far. I have lost 148 pounds so far with around 40-50 to go and so far, it has gradually shrunk. It takes time and I have still got some on the arms and inside thighs. My stomach looks more wrinkly than loose skin.

I upped my water intake to help hydration and just keep patient.

I am hoping to do something to improve my arms with exercise. They look pretty thin now and could do with some bulking out.

I'm in the same situation. I didn't lose a massive amount of weight but have loose skin. Interested in seeing what others have to suggest. (Ah to be younger again - I remember when this wouldn't have been a problem...) :ohwell:

This is me as well. I had NEVER lifted weights until I started working out to lose my weight so I believe I had really underdeveloped arms. We're thinking alike, I just finished a 5 month bulk and gained 20 pounds. Hopefully more muscle than not. I'm now in my second week of cutting, time to uncover some muscle. We'll see how it goes, LOL

Thank you!! And you look beautiful and have an amazing smile. Wow 162 lbs without exercise! You should be able to lose that 15-20 lbs with exercise in no time. I actually watched a tv. show the other night about a couple people that went thru the surgery, its pretty amazing!!

I thought I was lucky as well until I dropped to under 213 lbs and realized that the reason I could still pinch over an inch wasnt because of fat and that there wasnt anything between my fingers other than extra skin.

Luckily I started lifting from day # 1 of my weight loss, but now I want to start a bulk and have no clue about how much of a surplus I should eat at (scared to gain too much fat after working so hard to get a six pack) How long I should bulk for? And how long I should let my new muscle mature for before I start to cut again? Thanks for any advice.

I still have plenty of fat around my stomach even though it has reduced by 20". I am currently still 224 pounds.
