  • I have the Polar FT4. Basic, not complicated. Keeps track of cals burned and heart rate during exercise so you can step up or ease off your efforts. LOVE it!

Just ordered this one at the many many many recommendations I have read for it throughout MFP. Excited to get it an start using it! Although I am a bit nervous as to what the actual readings will be... :ohwell:

I just bought the FT4 for pretty cheap new. Less than $70. I haven't used it, but the interface is easy to follow and the strap is cloth and not plastic, so more comfortable than other straps.

I have the FT7 and I loooooooove it! It has a few more features than the FT4 but I workout regularly so one of the main reasons I opted for the FT7 was because I could change the battery on my own. The FT4 has to be sent back to Polar for the battery to be changed which means paying for shipping, the battery and the service. NO thanks! I was able to find great deals at www.heartratemonitors.com and Amazon (US). I think mine was $80 US with free shipping.

Is the F4 that you cant replace the batteries on, the FT4 you can replace them yourself

The best thing to use to get the back off it a coin, in Aus a 20 cent coin is best, not sure on other currencies, but a bigger coin is better

Ive got the FT4 and Im very happy with it

Edited to say, oops that had already been mentioned, I didnt read the second page!
