Watched the movie last night...not at all what I expected but interesting nonetheless. Just wondering if anyone tried this and what their results were?

Bump...I'd be surprised if nobody has tried it with how much people talk about this movie.
  • Dec 30th I started walking everyday- except Saturday (rain or shine).
    Jan 6th I started juicing.
Feb 1st I started hiking carrying a pack filled with sand (equivalent to each pound I have lost).
Feb 6th I started Crossfit classes, 4 times a week.

I feel wonderful. My wife has been doing the same every step of the way. She feels great and has lost almost 15 lbs.

My ticker shows my progress. I only wiegh-in on Monday mornings.

P.S. I have more energy than ever before and I don't feel like I am starving. It doesn't feel like a diet. Eating is a very "social" event. Once you get passed the idea that you are no longer dependant on food for social interaction, the desire to eat basically goes away. My juice is food - I just don't chew food anymore.

As far as expenses - I spend less than $20 a DAY! It's not as expensive as people think. I find produce on sale all the time and go to local Farmer's Markets.

I take in over 2,000 calories per day. Don't believe everything you read about juicing. Many people don't do it correctly. Check with your doctor first.

P.S.S. I don't give a *kitten* what other people think about my juicing. Unless your name is followed by "M.D." - shut it!

I started Jan 6th. So far so good.

How much have you lost since then? And have you had any other good changes?

Watch out for juice cleanses! You don't get enough calories, and you could actually do your body an injustice! When I want to detox/cleanse, I prescribe to the following (and it actually works pretty darn good):

    Breakfast:

1 cup skim, almond, soy, or hemp milk
    1 cup berries
2 tsp peanut butter, almond butter, or flaxseed oil
    1 cup ice (optional)

Blend these together into a smoothie.

    AM Snack

    1 cup sliced cucumber
    1 cup green tea

    Lunch

    4 oz lean meat
    1 cup greens
    2 tbsp oil

You may want to use the oil with some herbs to create a dressing for the greens.

    PM Snack

10 asparagus spears (blanched or steamed)
    1 cup green tea

Use a little plain greek yogurt and herbs to make a dip, if you like.

    Dinner

    4 oz lean meat
    1 cup greens
    2 tbsp oil

Again, you can use the oil with herbs to make a dressing for the greens.

I will only eat like this for 2 days, and it seems to do the trick! I drink plenty of water, as well. If I'm concerned about the calories being too low, I'll up the meat and veggies...but it is more the WHAT you eat. If you are trying to cleanse, you don't want to take in too many fats. Asparagus is especially known for it's detox effects on the body, as well as cucumbers, greens, and berries.

Thanks for posting this. I was actually wondering about this myself. Not for weight loss, because it's not a lifestyle I want, but for general health and kick start to the organs.

eolivero, it certainly seems to be working miracles for you. Are you following the Fat Sick & Nearly Dead protocol, or doing a different juicing regimen? I'd genuinly like to know.
  • I did this for 7 days. (finished yesterday) have lost 5lbs.. I have so much energy... my skin feels fresh and is so clear... I would recommend it to anybody.. just gotta be carefull breaking into food again... I will definately be incorporating fresh juiced fruit/veggies into my everyday life... even considering carrying it on after a couple of days rest! I loved it!
