Hello. I am pretty much in love with this sight. I've i've lost almost 5 lbs so far. But i feel like i'm losing too much too fast. I only added it march 19th. and Where i live it's march 21st. And i'm down 4.6 .. or something close to there. Would there be a reason why i'm losing it too fast. Is it bad if it's too fast? or is this normal? Input would be nice. I remember a trainer once told me that since i'm heavier i would lose it a bit faster because i'm not used to what i'm doing ... like working out this hard or eating a lot less. But i could be wrong.
Thank you!

Don't worry. Most people have an initial big loss. That is mostly water weight (has to do with glycogen) and will level off quickly. If you have a lot to lose (let's say more than 50 pounds) you can likely safely lose 2 lbs/week. If you have 100+ to lose, it seems like more than 2 lbs/week is pretty common and perfectly fine. If you are losing less than 50 lbs. you should probably aim for 1 lb/week.
Congrats on your loss so far!0 -
Typically the first few come off pretty quickly. I wouldn't worry about it yet. You're eating well, not starving yourself, and you're exercising. Generally speaking, a nice sustainable weight loss of 1-2 lbs / week is a healthy way to lose and is more likely to remain lost later on. Another factor could be water. If you weren't eating healthy before, a high portion of "easy" foods: take-out and pre-packaged foods, are high in salt which cause water retention. You may just be flushing the salts and water from your system at first. Enjoy the initial benefits. As you continue on, you will slow down.0

No. It is possible. When I started myfitnesspal I lost 8 lbs in a week. I exercised and I ate healthy foods (even junk sometimes). But now it's taking me a while to shed some lbs. Just as long as you get your metabolism going and keep working out, you'll be fine!0

I just joined MFP yesterday, but I started my program on Feb 25th. I lost around 10lb the first week, and around 3lb/week after that.0

Have you not long finished your period? (Sorry) - You can retain a lot of water just before / during your period and then when it ends the water retention just drops off0

Quick weight loss at the beginning is completely normal. I lost 10lbs very quickly when I first changed my eating habits and started working out. As a rule, it usually slows down within the first month. It is water weight and your body adjusting to all the changes you're making.0

As long as you're eating then no. You're going to drop weight quickly in the beginning. Enjoy it0
