Jillian 30 Day Shred Week 2, only burn 128 cals per HRM?

So I have a Polar FT4 and it says that I only burned 128 calories during the week 2 workout of the 30 Day Shred. Does that seem right? I gave it my all, but I know I've seen posts about burning over 200 calories w/ those workouts!!! Just curious.

  • it really varies for me too! some days i can burn over 300! today i did my 1st day of level 3 and my hrm said i burned 264!! i felt like it should have been way more than that! for me thought consistantly it is between 250-350 .. 128 sounds really low to me.

    I burned 168 on level 1... Maybe a bit low for you. I just started it, was sick and now back on track.

    Depends on your fitness level--if you're pretty fit then you may burn less calories. Keep in mind that 30DS is really only a 20 minute workout, so 128 cals doesn't sound too off base, however I would expect more like 175. Good luck!

    Hi there! I am in same boat as you, I am doing level 1 and I burned 112 cals yesterday doing day 1, today I burned 132cal because I added weights during the cardio intervals. I am using a polar Ft4 as well. I think it has to do with fitness level and current weight. I am a very active person, I run weekly about 6-8 miles, I'm also 124lbs, so i know I won't burn as much as someone whos 200lbs. Also keep in mind, not everyone is using HRM, some people just log it in as circuit training, if I log mine as circuit training, it has me at 202cal burn.

    I'm on level 3 and burning 250-260's, but there is a lot more cardio in level 1 and level 3, have you tried increasing your weights? good luck :))

    Yesterday ( Day 1 ) with my HRM, I burned 210, I'm not sure what today was...hit the wrong button or something..think when you log 30 mins of circuit training it is 230 calories.
    I am 124 lbs.
    I guess it is different for everyone?
  • I typically burn 325-350 on level 1 at 175lbs using ft 4 also.

    I think tomorrow I may try week 3 and see what that gives me for a calorie read. I did the Burn Fat Boost Metabolism this morning...which kicks my butt and burned about 340 calories during the 40-50 minutes. I also washed my FT4, I saw something that a person can get low readings if it needs to be washed. We'll see what happens I guess.
