Help me set fitness goals (please?)

Up until recently I only had a weight loss goal.

I want to lose 59.2kg, because that's how much my son weighed when I started - and that would put me neatly into the middle of 'healthy' BMI.

So then I was reading a thread on NerdFitness and someone said that you can tell a girl isn't overweight when she can do at least 3 pull-ups.

That struck a cord, so I added 3 pull-ups to my list.

The rock-climbing wall has a weight limit of 100kgs, so I've told my son when I'm under 100kg, I'll go rock climbing with him. So that's on my list....

What are your fitness goals? Does anyone have any that might inspire me?

I know I want to have a squat and deadlift weight to aspire too also, but I've not worked that out yet.

My 1st goal is to feel comfortable going swimming and taking my shirt off without a care in the world.

My second goal is to have every women in the world scream, hollar and passout because I look so good. Then, my wife gets real jealous and wants to beat people up!

Mostly, I want to feel good about myself though.

Will she be beating up the passed out people? Because that seems pretty unfair .... :)

In my dream it was more like...tanning oil here and there. Then, some slippin around and mean looks.

When it happens for real...cause it wil! It'll be more like...her hitting me and me crying a whole bunch! lol

My goals are to run a mile without getting winded, look good in the bikini I knitted as a congrats on losing weight gift to myself, lose my beer belly gut that developed after I had my son, and to not be "the fat mom" on the soccer feild.

What caused to me fail SO many times before, was focusing on only the big pisture. I would look at the 10 pounds I lost, then see the 60 still to go and get so discouraged that I'd give up and gain it all back. Same with exercising, I would look at the 1 hour of 1mph that I walked and see how tired I was, and not get over the thought that I'd never get to a brisk walking pace, let alone run for a mile.

It made a huge difference when I took my ulitimate goals and broke them down. Now, I just go for an hour for a fast as I can on the treadmill. When that's no longer a challenge, I up the speed a little. I've gone from 1mph to 3.5mph in 45 days. Same with weight, yes I still have the big picture, but I'm focusing on losing smaller chunks at a time, this particular "chunk" is 15 pounds.

Hope this helps! Above all else, make sure you're having fun! If you're not, then it's going to be harder!!

That's why I asked, I'm wanting fun fitness or strength based goals that I can achieve along the way. I've lost 50lbs (23kg), so I know I've got the weightloss covered.

I had the best NSV tonight at the gym.

My regular PT stood me up at the gym tonight (NOT happy) the gym manager found me a trainer to work out with.

A new trainer, I'd not met before. I said "I guess you should know I had knee surgery 3wks ago so I'm on light training on my legs, but I'm expecting an upper body strength session"

He was stunned I was back at the gym already, and started out with bench presses. He upped the weight 3 times.

From then on he was picking weights pretty suitable for me... I enjoyed the work-out, thought he was a nice bloke then he said "You are really strong, especially if this is your first session back after 3wks away."

I said "Thanks, I enjoyed the session."

    He said "Seriously, really strong."

    I'm a happy girl!
