Computer geeks... I need some help Please!

Ok... so, I have Norton on my Laptop...HP... with Windows Vista.
I don't know if it has anything to do with my issue...
Using Internet Explorer...
... when I try to google search anything, it comes up with the googled results... if I click on any of the results, it redirects to another screen... of different search results... to a page called "happili" or "gimmeanswers" or something else depending on what I click.
And it won't let me hit the back button to go back to my original google search. It goes back to whatever page I was on before that search.
What could this be?
And how do I fix it?

Not a computer geek by any means, but virus and malware scan pronto!
Then download FireFox or Chrome0 -
could be a browser jacker. Might want to do a virus search using a free program like Avast. Or google those names and see if they come up as hack locations.
Also, Norton and Macfee are targeted by hackers now because their code is out of date so a lot of definitions get past them. But I'm sure a better computer person can help with this
I'll just keep editing... http://forums.techguy.org/virus-other-malware-removal/957209-happili-com-google-redirect.html0 -

You almost certainly have a virus. Here's a start to fixing it:

^^^ What he said. You've got a virus/hijack/ad hack thing going on. Your Norton hasn't been updated...or it's not the full package? Go get Avast - love it and it's never let me down!
Good luck, this crap is hard to remove.0 -
You have malware.
Try any or all of the following:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Spybot
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html
Adaware
http://www.lavasoft.com/
The free versions of each are good enough to deal with what you have. Good luck!
(switching to Chrome or Firefox may not fix your problem on its own, either). Run the scans, kill the bugs.0 -

Check your LAN settings.0

oh geee great!!!
thanks for the help...

and then I'll go to Avast...0 -
Check your LAN settings.
I have no idea how to... or even what that means...0 -

LAN settings are irrelevant. I also recommend using malwarebytes and spybot.0 -
Your best bet is to do a system restore to a point before the search redirect virus appeared. It isn't found in most anti-virus sweeps so you won't have much luck just searching for it with your Norton. Once you get rid of it download FireFox or Chrome as suggested by chynook73. They are far less susceptible to spyware, adware and viruses.0

Agreed! Firefox or Chrome! Get away from IE ASAP!0

I used to work for geeksquad, this webpage was our bible.0 -
I had this happen a few years ago and it was so frustrating. I couldn't even properly download Malwarebytes to make it go away because it would hijack my browser before the download. What saved me: I took a jump drive to work, saved the Malwarebytes desktop target as something else random and saved on my jump drive. Then successfully installed at home. Had to run it a few times, but it came out clean finally. Best of luck to you!0

I agree on malwarebytes. That's something I keep running. It blocks stuff on Facebook ALL the time.0
