Hi

I cannot seem to lose any weight...my diary is public so please check it out. Today was bad thanks to my mom wanting something from Arbys and I did not check the calorie count before I ordered LOL.

My daughter has lost about 25 pounds, husband has lost almost 50 pounds (yes it had a lot to lose and see results every week) and I have not had any weight loss at even 1 pound per week. (well yes I have lost some but it take two to three weeks to lose a pound)

I am working out.

I am 52 years old and 5 ft tall and today weighing in at 175.00 and have gain two pounds from last week. Cannot tell any difference on the tape measure either.

I cant see your diary, but are you drinking lots of water? I eat alot of fruit and drink plenty of water. I find that so far just a brisk walk of about 2.5 miles is all the exercise i need . I have been doing this for about 25 days and have lost 15 pounds so far. Sometimes i replace a meal with a smoothie try mixing strawberry and apples with some raw spinach. I know it sounds gross but it tastes great once its all mixed together. Add me if you want.
  • fordguy74....does this mean you have a 74 ford or is that your birth year LOL. I am a big Mustanger....I have four of them.

Thanks for the advice....I just feel like I am spending my wheels...no pun intended.

I don't guess I particularly have advice, I've been stuck fluctuating between a 4-6 pound loss since mid January. I guess all I can say is try everything. I finally went to maintenance last week, but getting ready to try again. My latest attempt is to do some sort of intermittent fasting. It's caused a change in scale patterns at least, so we'll see.

    Hi
Are you going through menopause, 52 is the average age, and your metabolisms slows down,
It happened to me and I gained weight,
my Dr has me on Oestrogen gel, DHEA, and progesterone, pregnenolone and melatonin plus vitamins, this all helps to re balance the hormones, which in turns helps the metabolism,

Mustangs are a nice car, we are a Ford family, we have an Old Xy I think it is, one son has an lovely old xw sedan and my youngest son has a 1968 XT sedan.
    (we also have a 1968 Chev Impala and 2 1942 Harley's)

The only thing I notice in your diary is that your sugar intake is very high. Sometimes double the recommended amount.

I don't count fruit sugar against myself but when I have too much sugar my weight loss seems to completely stall. I had to switch my snacks to less sugary choices (even though I loved them) because weight loss meant more to me. My losses continued after I did that.

I can't say that works for every one but I know it was a problem for me.

Menopause is such a lovely thing LOL. I am post menopause and my Dr wil not give me HRT due to my mothers history of breast cancer. So I just got through it without any drugs...sure I needed them from time to time LOL.

LOVE my cars...I have a 83, 88, 92 and an 02. My husband has a 88 he is not into as much as me LOL

Are you eating enough calories? I hit a rough patch recently, even gained 2 pounds back, because I wasn't getting enough calories each day. I also have to drink a ridiculous amount of water to keep the scale moving down. Just figured out how to check a Diary...new here...you're doing much better than I am! I have to eat the largest potion of my calories for breakfast. I've had to cut out white flour and refined sugar completely. Nothing else will take the weight off for me.
  • have you tried eating clean? I mean yes you stay around your caloric goal.. and some people claim that a calorie is a calorie.. but I differ! I eat the same amount of cals as you but I eat whole grains, chicken breast vegetables fruits.. and allow myself to eat junk once a month... im not saying your diet is junk but if you eat more whole grains and just overrall healthier food your body will not only lose weight but also lower your bodyfat... you wont be "sinny fat" you'll be fit!
  • If it's not fresh (aka has a shelf life) its toxic to a healthy body.

After looking at your diary, I have a few suggestions. I'm just starting my journey, but was suck at my weight for many years til now.

    1. Eat more fresh foods-nothing that comes in a sealed bag, box, frozen or can
    2. Cook in advance and freeze meals vs buying frozen ones
    3. Log in to MFP and check out the food options BEFORE eating every meal
    4. Try eating Morningstar or Boca (soy products vs meat)

I hope this helps. I'm not suggesting you have to stop eating meat, but suggest you only get the hormone free products at the meat counter. I've been a veggie for 20 years and went from a size 12 to 8 in four month by cutting out meat 100%. I kept it off for 20 years and now am after a 6, so getting strict about counting the calories and exercise. :)
