I'm about to order the 30 day cleanse by Isagenix and was just wondering if anyone has any tips on losing as much weight as possible while on the cleanse! I'm cutting out gluten but what else can I do!?

Please don't comment on this if you have anything negitive to say. I've read it all and I know what i'm getting into! Me and my fiance are HORRIBLE eaters, I honestly don't think we've gone grocery shopping since 2011! I also don't work out very much but I just got a puppy so she'll help! I'm really hoping this cleanse will help me start eating better and cooking at home, I don't think i'll gain the weight back because of those reasons! Also I have a wedding in less then 3 months that I need to look amazing for!

Here some support groups for Isagenix (you probably won't get much support on the message boards):

I mean no offence, I would support it, but it was just a really bad experience.

probably because people that have researched this know you don't need to use artificial cleanses, your body does this naturally. And there's some products that can actually have very damaging results on your body from using them for cleansing.

Wait - if this is a 'duh' post then why are you helping the OP to do something that might "have very damaging results"? Is she your sworn enemy or something?

Well, that's not very supportive, is it? Why are you two enemies? I think we need some background info.

OP, I understand you want to do this, but I fear that you won't get the results you are looking for. There is a better way.

I wouldn't do it because I have crash dieted before and it never works long term BUT my cousin is doing it and she has lost 40 lbs in 3 months.

If you look at her post, she has already read the negative points about the cleanse. I simply directed her to places where the product is/has been used so that she can have her questions answered (rather than sift through what will surely be a thread full of negative comments).

I understand the need to come into a thread and try to convince the OP of your opposing viewpoint (it's pretty much the lifeblood of these MFP threads), but I believe it is equally valid to objectively respond to the OP's inquiry.

.... or I'm just a troll who enjoys attention, negative or positive. Thanks for indulging me

Just because she says she's read all the negative points does not mean she has, or that she actually understands all the negative "points". There have been people that have died and or had major organ failure from some of these cleanses. I'm am not saying this specific type she is referring to is one of the deadly ones or not. The point I was trying to make is if someone is asking for info regarding a very bad/dangerous fad diet I would not point them in the wrong direction. I would try to point them in the right "safer" direction.

What if she came on saying she was wanting to start a 400cal per day diet and do 2 hours of cardio 5days per week would you refer her to an appropriate group that follows this plan? I would hope not, that was all I was saying. Of course she will do whatever she wants.
  • I've been using Isagenix for 3 years and I think it's a great program. I used it to successfully lose 30lbs initially, and decided to continue on a maintenance program because of how great I felt. The ingredients are natural and high quality (eg. 23 grams of whey protein per serving that exceeds USDA organic standards) - and I feel like I'm getting excellent nutrition every day with next to no effort (I'm pretty lazy in the kitchen... lol). It only takes a minute to make a shake and they taste surprisingly good. My husband takes a shake every day for breakfast too and loves it... perfect since I don't have to cook... lol

In my case at least, it's been one of the better health choices I've made. I don't know what to tell you about the negative comments being posted... I think you'll find that most people who have tried it will give you different feedback. And really, reading through the ingredient list - it's all stuff that's good for you that most people would buy at a health food store anyway.

Anyway it worked for me, so I hope this is helpful.
  • I was on it for a few months at the end of 2008 and lost 15 of the 30 pounds I wanted to lose. The ONLY reason I went off it was the expense of it...it ended up being $300+ a month! I felt great while I was on it...and until very recently have kept all the weight I lost off. I am having my surgery on Thursday and due to the pain of my fibroids...I can barely walk a mile lately...forget any other type of exercise!

Funny how the only people these diet pills and cleanses work for are the ones with 1 post. Strange.
