30 Day Shred results for intermediate/advanced?

Hi everyone,

I've had the 30-day shred dvd for ages now, but I'm inspired by all the success stories. For those of you that have done it: is it "enough" of a workout to give results for someone who is already used to doing tough workouts (Insanity, Turbo Fire, etc.)?

Thanks for your input....

I think 30DS is a great tool to use. I do it Mon, Wed, and Fri and do other workouts the rest of the week. If you need more challenge, use heavier weights.

Do the advanced workouts, use slightly heavier weights (5lbs), and really push yourself on the cardio, and it will probably be a satisfying workout. It's only 20 minutes, though, so if you're used to Insanity and things like that it might not be enough... but it doesn't hurt to give it a shot!

I have done Insanity, p90x and currently Supreme 90 day. 30day is good for the week on vacation or something like that or when limited on time. It isn't easy and you can up the weights but... I am always up for more of a challenge than this one provides.

I really love ALL the Jillian workouts and own every one, but I also own Chalean Extreme and Insanity which I am doing right now. I don't think you will see the same kind of results as Insanity at all because you are already advanced if you have been doing those. Jillian does have a new 90 day challenge workout. I haven't checked that one out yet because I'm doing Insanity. 30 day shred is great to keep in shape but not to advance if you were doing harder workouts.

I am on day 8 level 1 on 30DS. I usually add extra cardio in on a daily basis and take a rest day once a week. I use 5 lb weights on most exercises but am thinking I need to move up to 8 lbs on some of them. I started the workout because I was impressed on how it worked on others peoples abs and hips. Even though I know it might not have the same effect on my body I thought it was worth a shot considering those are my trouble areas

I have the 30DS dvd and consider my fitness level to be fairly advanced. I tend to use the 30DS as a part-workout combined with one of her other dvds on one of my 'lighter exercse' days. I do L3, using the advanced moves and 3kg dumbells. The 30DS was my first JM dvd and I still have a soft spot for it haha!!
  • can you tell me how many calories you burned doing the 30 day shred, level 1?

Thanks so much for the responses! Right now, I'm doing Chalene Extreme with extra cardio (mostly Turbo Fire workouts or HIIT training). My problem area is also my hips/butt and it seems that people are really seeing results in that particular area from the 30D Shred routine.

I think I'm going to continue with my present routine and work on cleaning up my diet. :)
  • I would like to know the same thing! :) This is day three of the shred for me...wonder what the total burned is!?!

I know that the calorie burn depends on a lot of things, but I just checked my journal and I usually burned between 150 - 200 with 30D Shred.
