I have been healthy eating and exercising since late January /early February (I cant remember the exact date) and have gone from 194 to 184lbs which I am rather pleased about but cant really notice it on myself. Anyway I have been reading other posts about the 30 day Shred with Jillian Michaels and was wondering if it was as good as people are saying.

  • I am currently on day 3 level 2 of the Shred! I am loving the workout as it is only 20 minutes... but it is an intense 20 minutes! I have lost 23lb so far since January.

That is with other exercise and diet though so I cannot put it down to the shred alone. I have read that lots of people do not report lots of weight loss from it but it does tone you very quickly.

Do a search on here, there are lots of posts and pictures.

Feel free to add me x

I did 30DS last summer and found it great but by the end Jillian was getting on my nerves. I just started her new workout Body Revolution last Monday and love it.

Also give Firm Fitness Thin in 30 a look, I finished that last week before starting Body Revolution and found it good

I recently finished the 30 day shred and have just started Ripped in 30. The Shred will trim inches off your waist and belly, will make you feel stronger, will firm you up nicely...and it's only about 25 minutes which is awesome. I only lost 3 lbs though (but have less than 10 to lose overall...so weight loss for me is very slow). I lost a full inch off my waist (narrowest part) and another inch off my belly (widest part of lower tummy). Definitely happy about that.

    I started today!!!
You can check my topic "My Journal", is dedicated to 30Day Shred, so I won't miss a day.
It was my way to find some more motivation to step off bed at 6am to do it :D

Some exercises were more demanding that I expected, especialy the arm ones, but I have weak arms.
The leg exercise and the abds were not difficult, some of them were even easy.
Let's see how sored I'll be tomorrow and how D02 will be.

It's a great way to get some intense exercise in in a short space of time. The workout is only 20 minutes which is great for me. I was doing it before I went on holiday and was enjoying it. I'm going to start again soon. It did help with my weight loss but as I didn't do past half of it I don't know about end results.
  • Thanks for all of your responses, I am going to start doing it today because it is my off day for going to the gym. This probably sounds like a silly question because it is call the 30DS but does she advice you to do it every day?
  • yesterday would have been my day 8 of level 1. i took the day off for rest. i had done it 7 days in a row and didnt see any loss of pounds but i did lose an inch from each thigh and calves, and half an inch around my waist. i def feel stronger and less out of shape than when i began. i am kind bummed that i am not seeing weight loss but....muscle is heavier than fat so i may be toning up. i feel thinner and more tone but i still have some work to do...and im only in the first ten days still...lots to come i imagine.

I started the 30 day Shred today! Excited to see if this can help me jumpstart my weight loss. My goal is to finish at least by the end of April which gives me a few days off. Do most people also do additional cardio? I'm planning to do 4-5 days of cardio as well. I'm anxious to get swimsuit ready and glad to see others results to keep me motivated.

I start level 2 Saturday. A little nervous because everyone says how tough it is. But I am so ready to be done with level one, getting board with the same routine.

Hello, Last month I did the 30 day shred. I ended on day 27 (consecutive days)... Towards the end I wasn't feeling up to par and just felt drained -- I was doing other work outs on top of the DVD...

Anyway, I started this DVD while I was in a plateau. After losing about 24 pounds in 4 months...... So I was hoping it'd help with getting past my weight plateau.

Even though I was very active before I started it, the first 4 days I was very sore. Because I was using muscles I wasn't normally using.

    I did 10 days level 1, 10 days level 2, and 7 days level 3 all in a row!!!!

I only lost one pound in 27 days....... I did feel a bit stronger but no visible changes.

I think if I would have started it when I first started losing weight, it might have been different???

Honestly ---- I was getting bored with it. I even had to mute it and listen to music while doing it.

It's worth a try though if you are interested in it and the results are different for everyone!

    Good Luck!

I love the workout, it's short and challenging and fun. I was definitely sore when I started.

I never followed it to a T, though, so i can't give you experience there. My husband and I did it about 3 days a week, took a few months to complete it, but i definitely got stronger!
  • i will admit i have slacked this weekend. my girls first bday party and i was wiped. back to the grind tonight. i am def having an issue intaking all my calories lately i noticed. but i am just not hungry. idk. i am def losing inches on my legs. hoping that they will start coming off on my hips and waist. i will say one thing....i was checking my booty out in a mirror the other day and i was like hell...where did my butt go! lol. i know i lost inches there but i forgot to measure that party. i know i lost there because my jeans can be pulled down without being unbuttoned. so something is going right. i am just not sure how i feel about losing a ton of inches but not losing actual pounds. hoping something changes.
