if you have the money I guess you're able to do those sorts of things. :shrugs: I know what a battle weight loss is, mentally, and can't really judge people.0

Lifestyle change Ms. Piggy, lifestyle change.
Seriously? WTF. why name call.0 -
I think whatever works for her is great.
No need to be snarky about it (especially from someone that is where she started out years ago)0 -
She had GBS 13 years ago... her pouch probably stretched out and is allowing her to eat full amounts again. Also, she probably never broke the food addiction cycle. Now she has the Lap-Band on top of the GBS - which is not rare. At some point she is going to have to face her demons because the GBS/LB combo is not a cure all.
I don't think we should judge her for her choices. Instead we should educate ourselves and hope that others do the same. Food can be an addiction; a dangerous one at that. If the GBS/LB combo helps her, then I say do it, but she needs therapy too!0 -
My point is - She did the full on Gastric Bypass. That is the big daddy of weight loss surgeries. Trust me, I know. i've looked into it. The lapband will work if you don't overeat. If you overeat you will gain weight. It's a "minimal" surgery. So why she thinks that is the answer is beyond me. I can't imagine having the surgery twice.
I was seriously looking into having the surgery, but decided there is too much risk. My sister had it a year ago and yes she has lost 150 pounds but she has been in and out of the hospital with so many health problems associated with the surgery. She is weak and scared she won't stop losing weight, her body can't absorb protein now, the list goes on and on. Scary.
I know it's a battle, it's very tiring, but I know the answer is to make wise food choices and MOVE THE BODY. I'm trying...each day to do that.0 -
For a long time I know she wasn't just counting on the surgery. She worked out pretty hard. It's a challenge for us all. I can't, in good conscience, insult someone who's struggling.0
-
I knew she had the first surgery, I wasn't aware that the results don't last.0

exactly. My husband lost 170 pounds. he says it's 90% mental and he is correct.0 -
Why would she continue to get these surgeries. its oviously her head and heart is not in the game so she should stop it. She is not taking this weigh issue serious. She feels that she has the money to pay for the weight to come off, which she does but who am I to each his own..0
-
Maybe she could start a support group with some of the other struggling but successful stars - like Kirstie Allie, Jordin Sparks, Jennifer Hudson, John Goodman. They've all got the money, the Hollywood glare on their lives... could be helpful for all of 'em to have support from an understanding group.
'course - how this little message from li'l me will ever reach them, I have no idea.0 -
Ms Piggy and Carnie Wilson both need to learn to change their life style. Ms. Piggy is still the same weight she was back in the 80's.
Don't get your panties in a wad. [Oh, just being humorous with the Ms. Piggy deal]
Lesson learned = surgery alone doesn't fix anything.0 -

LOL I think you're kinda funny, personally. People can be very uptight at times.0 -
There isn't a surgery or diet or plan or ANYTHING that will work.........until the individual is ready.
I think we've all learned that here. Ms. Wilson needs to join MY FITNESS PAL
I feel sorry for her, as this probably won't work, either.0 -
Lifestyle change Ms. Piggy, lifestyle change.
Yeah! Stop insulting Ms. Piggy. When Ms. Piggy has a problem she solves it with hard work and karate chops! She would never be a lazy short cut taker, like Carnie Wilson.
All kidding aside, I think that maybe Carnie is being paid to do all this again, or at the very least she will parley this into a reality show.0 -
Yeah, she obviously didn't learn anything. Plenty of women have lost weight after having children, using them as an excuse is dumb.0
-
with all her money, she could afford a personal trainer AND a nanny to look after the children while she busted her *kitten*. Pure lazyness i tell ya.0

And a hot cabana boy. If I had a hot cabana boy, I would work out twice a day! It's called motivation and it works.0 -

totally, I'd make him pretend to work right by the window i'm exercising by, so i can stare at him and remember why i'm lifting so heavy and doing cardio for so freakin' long...0 -

She does have nannies and a housekeeper. I saw it on Wife Swap Celebrity edition, lol. So that doesnt seem to help either?0 -
Here is my thought on it and please remember, it is my opinion and I'm entitled to it and nothing you say to me is going to change said opinion. That being said, here goes...
I don't understand the whole GBS or LapBand "solution." You have to change your attitude toward food and working out. Magic surgery isn't going to fix your body if your head is still messed up. I have a friend who had GBS 2 1/2 years ago. She lost almost 100 lbs pretty quickly. I can see now that she is creeping right back up. She didn't change her eating habits and she doesn't exercise.
If you aren't prepared to eat properly and exercise then no surgery is going to work. That is why I am so anti-surgery as a solution to a weight problem. There are so many risks with GBS. It's just not natural for our bodies to be re-routed so that certain parts don't work right. I mean really...my friend can't throw up. It's physically impossible because of the routing of things from surgery.
I'm certainly not trying to put myself above others. God knows I have my own food issues but I'm working on changing my behavior and not looking for a quick fix. I didn't put this weight on overnight so it's not going to come off overnight either but I am watching what I eat and how much and I'm exercising.0 -
To permanently change weight issues, you have to change the problem that caused it. She's attacking the symptoms of weight gain and not the problem.
It's like taking a pill for pain. It will help the symptom, but not solve the problem.

That's what I was trying to say but yours was less long-winded than mine. LOL I do tend to go on.0 -
I watched her reality show a couple years back. She gorged on pure sugar while she was running a bakery out of her house. Gastric bypass surgery and sugar are mortal enemies. She has some SERIOUS issues.0

Lifestyle change Ms. Piggy, lifestyle change.
That's messed up...
Look in the mirror before you look out the window.0 -

I think it's ridiculous! She has already had this procedure once, she went to Dr. Oz for help, she has plenty of household help (from what I saw on Celebrity Wife Swap), and the last I heard she was trying to have her own cheesecake business.
Seriously, she is without excuse!
It takes hard work, self control, and change. And she is obviously not ready to do any of these things.0
