Hi!! I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and I am using MyFitnessPal to track my calories and my workouts so I can manage my weight, I have currently put on 12 pounds and my goal is to put on half a pound a week for the duration of my pregnancy, maybe a little unrealistic, but, I am still going to try. I work out 5-6 days a week alternating between intense full body circuits and cardio with yoga.

Congratulations on wanting to have a healthy pregnancy! If you haven't already, I'd go and discuss your plans with your doctor/OBGYN as diet and exercise choices shouldn't be made lightly when pregnant. I don't know what your starting weight is or what your previous exercise levels were but third trimester is not the time you want to be starting new, high intensity activities or calorie counting with a deficit. Walking, swimming and cycling are all good, low impact options for exercise which keep you active but don't put too much stress on your body. In the third trimester your ligaments are all loosening up so that your pelvis will accommodate the delivery and high impact exercise can easily injure you. You may be interested in this website for some more information (The Royal Women's Hospital) http://www.thewomens.org.au/Weightgaininpregnancy and speak to your doctor. All the best with your pregnancy.0

Thank you!! My starting weight was 137, I am going to be 23 weeks on Saturday and as of the last time i weighed my self (earlier this week) I was 150 pounds. I was very active before I got pregnant, training for a marathon and weight lifting. My dr said if I was doing it before, I could continue to do it. I don't do any running, but I am speed walking 4.5-5/mph and doing full body circuits twice a week. I am also doing yoga at least twice a week, but I am trying to get 2 more yoga classes in during the week. I definitely listen to my body and when doing workouts that are really intense, I check my heart rate to make sure I'm not too high. Usually the talk test works well for me and is a good judge of how hard I am working.0
