Bumping up calorie intake

I have never really counted calories before ... I just focused on cutting out most of the junk food. But yesterday (Thurs 22) I finally had a go at filling out my food diary on MFP to see where I am at on an average day. I consume roughly 1200 calories (and feeling satisfied) and that wasnt even an exercise day. I have no idea how to bump up my calories or how to eat my exercise calories back.

Can anyone shed some light on how I could up my calorie intake? Also, my sugar is a little high, but is this a bad thing consierding the highest sugar food item is an apple?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to the whole food tracking and I think it is time to get a grip once and for all...

I had a look at your diary, and the food choices look good.

I would say on the days you work out try have more protein, which should up your calories. Boiled Eggs maybe? Or Protein drinks?

And maybe add another snack in there somewhere. Something with avocado, nuts, cottage cheese, some grains/lentils/beans maybe?

You could add more stuff to your salads too. Like Fetta cheese, avocado, boiled eggs, pine nuts.
