Thanks, but I've been in the habit of weighing myself buck naked, straight out of bed after going to the bathroom for as long as I can remember. Maybe next week will be a better week...I'm not giving up. Thanks for caring

I've seen my weight swing over 5 pounds in just a day or two. Perplexing, to say the least. However, I did the daily and even twice daily weighing just to see how my body weight bounced around. Rapid weight loss isn't a good thing, anyway.

As noted above, a consistent weigh-in time once every week is usually adequate. Other factors may increase your weight temporarily even on a weekly basis, but week-over-week on a consistent basis should show progress. If you really lose 10 pounds over 2-3 months, for example, it will be really hard for all that weight to show up on "weigh day" just to frustrate you and that is really what you want.

I weigh in on Sunday morning while my coffee is brewing. I will also occasionally weigh-in on Wednesday evenings before dinner. Sometimes the weight will be higher than I expect for a week or two, but then the weight loss resumes. For example, this past weekend I was in NYC. Now I ate well and was mindful of my goals and made sure that I walked and used the fitness room. But when I returned my weight was three pounds heavier than when I left. Yesterday evening I was down one pound from that weigh-in and it might be two weeks before I each my pre-NYC weight. But if I keep running the deficit in calories, my body has "no choice" but to eventually take that and the other weight I plan to lose off my body.

As I get closer to my goal it is slowing and I expect that. But progress will come for you if you stick to the game plan and you are really honest in tracking your intake and energy expenditure.
