It's now been a month since I started dieting and working out. Suddenly it is harder for me to bike. I feel more tired and I want to eat everything. It's not my monthly or anything. I can't figure out what is going on. Does anyone have sny ideas on what is going on? Is this normal? Any feedback would be wonderful. Thanks in advance :"

Not really. Maybe if you open your diary?
  • Are you getting enough protein? Complex carbs? Water? Sleep?

According to this app I am getting the correct amounts in everything. I get 7 to 8 hours of sleep. I bike 5 days a week more or less and 6 to 14 miles a day. I do more when I eat more so the range varies. I wonder if I should take a break but thay just doesn't mske sense to me.
  • Im guessing you are overtrained. Give yourself 3 days off from training and you'll feel better than ever when you start up again the 4.th day :)

I agree to take a break. There is a good chance you will come back refreshed and ready to hit it hard! 3 or 4 days in the grand scheme won't hurt one bit (keep your diet in check). It wouldn't be a bad idea to do that every few weeks. Personally, I take a 3 or 4 day break every month when I PMS--I have learned my body well enough to know that if I try to push through it does more harm than good!

Likely, it's that you're not taking in enough calories. I recently plateaued and went through the same thing. After increasing your metabolism with working out, your body needs more calories to keep up the pace. Add up to a couple hundred more calories (preferably fruits/veggies with some carbs) an hour or so before working out. It sounds counter-productive, but you're essentially keeping your metabolism from going back to where it was to adjust for the lower calorie intake. After raising your intake to where you feel strong again, you can drop your intake back for a couple of days, then increase again- keep ahead of of the cycle.

I spent a lot many yeaers not exercising or starting a routine and lasping after a even a short break so I understand not wanting to break the exercise habit. Taking a break is good idea, but if that really stresses you out you can try doing something else instead. A moderate walk instead of an intense bike ride or maybe some stretching or light weights. You can rest the muscles that need rested and can rev up your metabolism.

You may be coming down with something or overtraining, but most likely you're not eating enough. Are you eating what MFP recommends to lose 1lb a week or less, and are you eating back at least a good proportion of your exercise calories? If you're struggling to eat at the moment, look at foods rich in good fats, like nits and avocados.

I think I am eating. I eat A LOT more than I did before I started dieting and exercising. I eat 1200 to 1000 calories a day and its usually all healthy.

Here's your problem, 1000 to 1200 is too little for nearly everyone unless you're particularly short. Go with what MFP recommends for 1lb a week loss and no less - it will never go below 1200. It looks like you're quite close to goal so you may even want to go with 0.5lb a week - slow but sustainable!

Eat more and your cycling will come on in leaps and bounds. Tour de France riders eat 6000 calories a day!
