So many of you are upset because you gained a few pounds, yet if you are eating right, tracking, exercising what not, there are SO many reasons for this. Use a tape measure. Maybe you are gaining muscles, muscle is leaner and a pound of muscle is smaller than a pound of fat. Maybe you are PMS'ing and are retaining water. Stop fretting over a few pounds. Weigh the same time, the same day, don't just jump on because you want to know what you weigh, I can weigh 139 in the morning and 144 in the afternoon, yet my clothes don't tightened up during the day.

Yes, I try not to freak out about the number on the scale which is why I went to a 1 day a week weigh in and not everyday. Different things work for different people.

I am definitely about being healthy, I eat well, work out, but sure I do want to see a certain number on the scale. A number I have never been in my life, let alone my adult life. I see it as a personal goal. I just want to see that number. Doesn't mean I'm not and have not been very serious about getting healthy. It's no different than someone who has a goal of wearing a bikini for the first time in their life or having a 28 inch waist. As long as they're healthy about it.

I am totally aware bodies fluctuate every single day. I don't even bother to weigh at all during that time of the month anymore either!

I agree completely. Weight fluctuates, learn to live with it. If fluctuating weight freaks you out, get off the scale, break out the tape measure and measure once a month instead.

    Agreed.
Focus on improving your body composition. I was the same weight 2 years ago, but look and feel totally different now.

    Agreed. I don't weigh - at all.
I know it's going to take time for my body to change , right now I'm concentrating on eating well & exercising.
I feel better and I can see my shape changing. I'm happy with that. :-)

Must admit, I do tend to get very upset by the scale sometimes, as I tend to have days where I will shoot up 2 or 3 Ibs between weigh ins. Meanwhile, my bf can eat chocolate and toast and cookies and his weight stays the sane or drops down a bit even. It is quite frustrating, even though my weight is within the healthy range.

Agreed! My weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds because of water weight. I di weigh myself everyday but don't get worried about the extra because I know my weight will go right back down in a day or so.

I track my weight on a graph, which is good at showing me my general trend and not getting annoyed at individual results..
