Hi, anyone from anywhere with friendship and advice?

Hi,Shelly, i`m a single mum , over 40 (just) and have lost 2 and a half stone over the last 6 months, still got a long way to go, but going to the gym and doing workout classes and now finding MFP has been the best thing ever. I have a personal trainer who tells me not to worry about how many pounds i`m losing as i`ll be gaining some of them back in muscle, but to look at my body fat stats every week instead (it comes down between 1% and 3% every week). I can tell i`m a lot fitter and healthier and MFP helps me to keep track of the food i eat , although i stay within my daily goal for calories, it keeps saying i`m under but i cant figure it out, does it take off the calories you burn in exercise?? If anyone could help me understand this i would be most grateful.

Yes it does take off for you exercise.
If you goal is 1400 no exercise but you burn 200 in exercise, your new goal is now 1600 for that day.

Hi there. I am a single mom too (love your word mum). I would love to be able to afford a personal trainer, but so far not able to. Sounds like you are doing great though!!! I am not the pro on all the calorie stuff and still struggle with the whole concept of eating back my workout calories, so not the one to ask on that, lol. I do find lots of good advice on here though.0

Thanks though, i think i understand it now, although i`d never heard of eating the calories that you`ve burned in exercise before, maybe i`m not eating enough then?? I only see my trainer once a week and do the rest myself at the gym, they do lots of different classes so i dont get bored, and i am loving MFP, as i can keep track of not only calories but carbs, protein etc. I have yo yo`d diet for so long that my health has suffered as a result, but hopefully will be a lot healthier, although it will probably take till christmas, but thats ok, it took me years to get this big so dont expect to get fitter overnight! Spring is coming and i want to be out and about!0

Hiya, I'm in the UK too. Hope you find this site useful.
I wasn't eating my calories back at first but have slowly started to up my calories. I have abused and under eaten and gained weight for many years after being skinny so I'm just trying to get my body back on track. Most of the successful and fit people on here swear by eating back and it does make sense, do you have your activity level set to sedentary or more active?
I'm trying to lose slowly and go by a bit of what you fancy does you good, I aim to stay under my cals, carbs and fat.
I'm always after new friends on here so please feel free to add me.
