Working out at work

I am trying to get some workout ideas going for those of us with desk jobs. While I do workout at home 5-6 days a week and walk 2-3 times during my lunch break, I'd like to get some more exercise in throughout the day.

IF your office allows it, try switching your desk chair to a large exercise ball. You'll be working your core and improving your posture without really realizing it!!! Even sitting on it for 1/2 of your day will help.0

Also, if you have flights of stairs in your building, on your break just climb enough flights to make your legs burn! A friend and I just started taking the stairs to the top floor of our hospital (8 floors with subspaces). My thighs are jello by the end and it only takes about 15 minutes!0

set a timer and do some pushups every hour, about 70% of your max. It's fun and other people may find it interesting and join in0

Fitness magazine has a few ideas:

I have a resistance band in my desk, there are tons of exercises you can do with these.
Also, I have a walking video I can do at lunch (behind closed doors) when the weather is bad. Won't work for everybody, but here's the idea .....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnsfbneFQ_8&feature=related

This is great and I'm going to look at the responses more in depth when I get home. I like the exercise ball one. I might talk to my office manager about that one.0

I like the pedals. I'll have to get me some of those. Thanks.0
