I make my own too, almond butter as well, it's pretty simple, much lower calorie & without the excessive sugar & salt content of shop bought. I use blanched untreated nuts, a bit of ground nut oil to my preferred consistency & blend the fluck out of it.
I like mine smooth.0 -
I make my own cashew butter. ^__^ I have a lot of trouble to get the right consistency without adding too much oil... ///_-0

Cashew butter...sounds good!! I've never tried it; however...I find when making peanut butter... transferring the ground peanuts from the food processor to a mixer and mixing on low give me the right consistency without adding any oil whatsoever. May wanna try that.

I think that part of the issue is also that the oil content of the nuts themselves can be low or inconsistent.... I will give that a shot, though!Cashew butter...sounds good!! We don't have a food processor so I can't make my own. I had never tried any kind of nut butter before until today. I'm not the one who buys the groceries, I asked for Peanut Butter, but it had a bit of oil in it and salt. Also, I don't really have the money till Friday to buy my own stuff.
Will buy a 1kg tub of it from MyProtein. It's 100% peanuts. No oils, no sugar and no salt added. It's only £4.50 as well which is pretty good for the amount you get in it.
Anyway, tried it for the first time today and it's pretty good. It's weird have peanuts in a paste like substance lol.0 -
