Binge...

So tonight was the first binge that I've had in 6 weeks. I had fairly frequent BED for 2 years, and then put my foot down 6 weeks ago. Until I went to my friend's fully catered 21st bday dinner tonight and I was super hungry.
I literally think it was the worst binge I've ever had. I feel stuffed to the brim, and feel both mentally and physically ill. I reckon the calories were in the thousands.
I feel extreeeemely guilty. I can't believe that I'm back here again.
Does anyone have any tips they have in overcoming bingeing etc?
I suppose the small NSV here is that 6 weeks is the longest i've gone without bingeing in over a year...

I feel your pain...lost track again last night. I was so exausted from a weeks worth of hard work, self employed massage therapist, I had a big fat drink and my low calorie meal...then some of BF's mac and cheese. At least I didn't eat the candy he was having. I went to bed with no weight loss this morning. I have to stay clear of funtions with food...no self control. Good luck...0

Yeah I hear you. Normally I eat beforehand, but I went straight from work, and thought that I had developed enough self-control to be able to have a 'dinner's worth' of food there.

How to overcome it? Dabble in moderation. Give yourself a day to let loose once in a while. My brother and I, who have lost a combined 100+ lbs, dabble in all-you-can-eat sushi once a month when we are cutting and eat AYCE sushi probably two times a month on a bulk or maintaining.
So, you binged. What's the big deal? Nothing. It only becomes a deal if you binge 7 days a week. You have to remember, you should make dieting and fat loss fit your lifestyle, not the other way around or you'll never be successful. You were at your friend's birthday. This is a special event, one where everyone is eating and having fun. I'm cutting currently and I would have done exactly the same thing as you.
If you are at a special event then I think you should enjoy yourself. Don't feel guilty. Guilt says there's something wrong with what you did and that's a sign of an unhealthy relationship with food. Food is your friend. Don't be afraid of getting fat. Don't be afraid of living a little.
You might not lose any weight this week. I ask you this: WHO CARES? You have another week after that to lose it. Weight loss isn't a race.0
