Losing weight faster without exercise?

I haven't been to the gym in the last week. We had friends in town from last Saturday to Wednesday and then my daughter was home sick puking so I didn't get to go. But my weight keeps going down. Faster then it ever would if I was hitting the gym too. Why is this? I'm planning to go today and tomorrow but I have to prepare myself that the scale may go back up from it.
I know muscle weighs less then fat but if I haven't been working out in the last week then why am I weighing less?

Sometimes exercise can cause you to retain water, especially if you are just starting to exercise or lift heavy weights, and that can cause the scale not to move. However, the benefits of exercise greatly, greatly outweigh scale numbers because of the role it has in tightening and reshaping your body, not to mention countless cardiovascular and other health benefits.
As they say, weight loss alone makes you look good in clothes - exercise makes you look good naked.0 -
I'm planning to get back in the gym. I went 5 days the week before but I guess I was more surprised that I lost weight faster without the exercise. I definitely don't want to be skinny fat. I want to have nice muscles.
