I have no idea what a deficit is and how they contribute to weight loss. Can someone please explain this to be and tell me if im doing things right? Ill provide the info needed

If you eat enough food to maintain all your body functions while you lie in bed & watch tv BUT you get out of bed & get active every movement you make burns calories. The difference between the number of calories you need to lie in bed & watch tv & the number of calories you burn when you are active is the defecit & this is the fat you lose.
