one flat foot, one not, what shoes, what arch supports?

I had surgery on my right foot about 3 years ago in which my collapsed arch was reconstructed. So now I have a perfect arch in my right foot and am flat footed now in my left.

My question is: which foot should get an arch support, the flat one or the reconstructed one? And does anyone have walking shoe recommendations? Or arch support brand recommendations?

You need custom orthodic inserts. You can buy good shoes, but go to a podiatrist and have them do custom inserts for you.

See a Podiatrist! You definately need custom orthotics. About the shoes, my Dr. said to buy shoes that have removable insoles so I could put the orthotics in and also to make sure that I measured my feet and bought shoes that were at least 1/2 longer than my toes. I was shocked that at 50 years old my feet had grown in length. lol Good luck!

    Ditto: Ha, I have gone from 10 1/2 to size 11 1/2.

So I just found out my insurance does not cover podiatry. Do you all have any other suggestions?
