Is this leisure cycling or mountain cycling?

I cycle a lot and where I live there are a lot of hills, some steep and some just long and gradual, mixed in with fairly flat country lanes, so it is a bit like interval training I suppose in the sense that it changes from easy to difficult to moderate to easy etc every 2-5 minutes.

I do not though whether to consider this as mountain biking or as leisure cycling in the exercise calculator because I don't go especially fast (10-12 mph on the flat), but the hills obviously don't seem too much like leisure cycling to me and I certainly feel as if I am using far more calories than what the leisure cycling option gives me.

    no-one knows, I guess.
  • That's leisure cycling. Although you are working fairly hard, and the hills do suck...Mountain biking is like trail riding. Dirt trails, and hard to maneuver hills, dips, turns.

Why not log it as light (10-12 mph) or mderate (12-14) bicycling?

Thanks, have logged it as moderate cycling to take into account the hills. Other sites give around 800 calories for 2 hours without hills, so I am guessing I am using close to 500 an hour.
