Beating PCOS!

Hi, I am new to this site and just wondering how many other women out there are fighting PCOS. If there is anybody out there, please share any tips or tricks that have helped you along the way. I have got to get healthier. I have a precious 2-yr-old daughter to run after and it is getting harder to keep up with her. I do want to lose weight and look better of course, but my main goal is to be healthier and stronger. I have started back rotating resistance bands, yoga, gazelle, and walking. This is the first week I am seriously trying. Any success stories of PCOS conquerors...I'd love to hear all about it!

Hi there! I just started my life style change so I don't have a success story YET! But I also have PCOS, and I know how hard it is to lose the weight! I have been very blessed with 3 little girls. I gained all my weight between, PCOS, fertility drugs, and just being lazy. At my heaviest I was at 205 (that was in 2006) and I am currently at my lowest weight since 2004 at 166. I love this site. There is so much motivation and so many people to hold you accountable. I will add you and hopefully we can keep each other going!! :)

Well as you know, losing weight with PCOS is HARD. The best thing that I did was cut my sugar intake. Its made a huge difference and after losing 20lbs my periods became more regular.
    Good luck to you!

Thank you both! I'm glad I joined this site. There is encouragement simply in knowing you are not going through it alone and there are others who know you you feel. I appreciate the support and look forward to losing some weight and feeling better! I have decided that while I have stupid PCOS, it does NOT have me!

There a quite a few people here with PCOS and are still losing weight! I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple of groups too, you may want to search for them!

Congrats for deciding to take control of your life and control of your condition! That's huge, in and of itself!

I also have PCOS and it is so.much harder, but so worth it! A lot of my symptoms have eased up since I became healthier. It can be discouraging when you see people putting on half he effort and getting twice the results, but then I remember how far ive come and know that the harder it is, the more rewarding it will be! Good luck, and remember, YOU CAN DO THIS!

The more I think about it PCOS has probably held me back from losing the weight I should have lost by now. Anyhow, Welcome :)
