So frustrating!

Go out to eat with my family...think I am choosing somewhat wisely(splurge but not too crazy)...come home and find out the meal was over 1000 calories!
It will be real nice when the calorie counts on the menu (in the restaurant not just online) are published everywhere. I don't think they should stop offering the "junk". Everyone should be in control of their own choices, but seeing it right there in black and white just might help me make the right choice. My will power needs all the help it can get!
Just wanted to vent my frustration. Thanks!

While we ALL share your frustration, at least you recognized it and are ready to move on. sometimes, the best lessons - the ones that stick - are where we have fallen down. . .
Hang in there~~~0 -
It is so hard to find anything decent when eating out. I've resolved that I'll avoid it when I can, when I do go out, make the best choices I can and then work it off.0

Hey that's a good idea to have restaraunts post their nutrition facts. I wish they would too, it really would help us all out.0

Here in Cali the major chains have to have the nutritional info available. I dont think they should have to change the menu or anything, let people eat what they want to eat and let the people who want to know what they are eating know. Even when I think something is healthy it's usually not, but at least now if we eat out on a whim, I know I can see what I am getting myself into and plan accordingly. I think NY also has nutritional information posted, it was a new law passed last year I believe.0

The plan for posting the info is coming. I believe its already in some parts of California and New York. I guess I will have to do a little detective work "before" I go out next time.
How do we suggest an eating out board? That would be super helpful, exchange the yummiest and better for us choices!
Time to go burn off my brunch!0 -
I think the "Eat this not that" series could be helpful. They tell you what to eat at certain chain restaurants and what to avoid. I need a copy to carry with me everywhere i go so in case I am ever in a spontaneous situation I can have an idea of where to eat and what to eat. I think they focus mainly on large chains like like Applebie's and Chillie's and so forth.0

I bet there is an ap out there for those who eat out.0

Now that everything is pretty much posted online I think I am going to go thru and check out the restaurants I frequent the most(sit down and fast food) and make myself a list or plan of what to eat where. A little time investment now and it will save me a lot of frustration(not to mention exercise!)next time.
P.S. I have found the hungry girl website offers a lot of dos and donts as well.0
