Well, I am using MyFitnessPal in conjunction with Nutrisystem to get healthy. Not only am I trying to get to a healthy weight range, but I just want to be healthy in general. I am so used to abusing my body (eating unhealthy, smoking, never lifting a finger to exercise) I decided it was time to change. I stopped smoking about 2 years ago, had smoked a pack an a half a day for about 8 years. For a while that was enough. Then, I didn't want to be overweight anymore. My friend was on Nutrisystem and got me to give it a try. I feel so good now, it is like night and day. I am a teacher, and the added energy has been astounding and useful to not feel totally dead at the end of the day. And now it isn't just about the weight. I want to be healthy. Throughout my life style.
I realize the downfall to my current path is keeping the habit up once I am no longer getting my meals handed to me, portioned and healthy. That is a large part of why I am using MyFitnessPal, in order to prep for when I am on my own. Today I am looking to get some sort of fitness tracker, like BodyMedia or the FitBit. Really though, I just wanted to put myself out there and see if I can't build a body of support. I know that was critical to me quitting smoking, and I think it will be for me to continue being healthy.
TL;DR: Hello! I am sick of being unhealthy.

You bet! I gained about 15lbs when I stopped smoking. Then I just kept steadily gaining weight. I felt great after my lungs finally cleared up. But I realized my energy was still really low. In part because I ate nothing but fast food.0

Welcome! I've ben with myfitnesspal for just a month, but I really enjoy the support and all the information that I get. It's almost addictive. I also just got a Fitbit. I figure it counts all calories burned, so I only have to count all calories consumed. I just need to be more conscientious about counting ALL calories!
I have 100 lbs to lose. But for the first time in a very long time, I'm excited about the journey.
Good luck with your journey as well!!0 -
Hey, I'd love some more support too. I've been on mfp since September and enjoy it. I've been finding it hard the past couple of weeks so would appreciate the support. I'm a very supportive person too and would love to help you. Friend request sent0
