If there wasn't pepperoni on the pizza you had, the fat calories might be a bit high on your diary. Don't sweat it. You're still fine for calories and fat. I mean, it's not like your average person has to eat more fat to make sure to get enough, that's just silly :)

    Does that answer your question?

I see two kinds of cheese pizzas from Pizza Villa.

Sicilian Cheese has 29 grams of fat per serving (slice) and Neapolitan Cheese has 19 grams of fat per serving (slice).

It's fine to eat these kinds of things once in a while - but I think the question to ask yourself is: was it worth it? If you're willing to give over an entire meal to one slice of pizza every so often, then go for it. Personally, I LOVE pizza - it's my favorite thing. I only get the "bad" pizza every few months (and that's still with reduced fat cheese). Alternatively, a couple times per month, I make pizza at home - low fat cheese, veggies, wheat crust, reduced sodium sauce, etc. Much healthier, tastes great, and I can eat a good portion of it so it's actually enjoyable/satisfying/filling.

Don't listen to anyone who says not to eat pizza. If you plan for it, log it, and enjoy it, there's absolutely NO reason to avoid it!

I have pizza at least once a week.

I agree, the fat grams seems a bit high, unless it was a particularly greasy pizza.

pizza is ok if the crust is thin and there is no sauce , top it veggies and feta cheese or protein . you are ok , and do not feel bad about eating it , just do better tomorrow or do some cardio.

Pizza is ok if it fits your calories and macros, no matter what's on it or how thick or thin the crust is. And hers did.

There's nothing wrong with bread, cheese, tomato sauce and any variation of vegetables and meats, whether they're eaten individually... or as a pizza.

The calories and fat seem a bit high to me....
And don't listen to those who say "don't eat pizza"
I have pizza once every other week...
BUT I exercise like crazy that day to make sure I have the calories/carbs/fat for it
I also try to pick a "healthy" choice pizza...
I like thin crust with a basil pesto base, broccoli, pineapple, spinach and chicken

I have pizza every friday. I plan for it and save up my calories so I can eat a couple of slices. If you make it at home, you can make it super healthy and lo-cal. I have agood crust recipe, if you want it.

^This. I have 2 slices of pizza every Friday night, and I've lost 13lbs since I started her (24 since December). Pizza is food. You can have food. Make it work into your calorie goals and it's no problem.

I totally agree with the above! I don't have it every week, but when I do I eat nearly a whole one by myself! Some of the numbers go through the roof for that one day, but I exercise and eat lightly so I can afford it. DON"T start denying yourself stuff, You can eat in anything in moderation or if you have the spare cals. When you start denying yourself stuff, you are on your way to sabotaging yourself...it never works for long.

Pizza is yummy and can be good for you.

Like most food, making it at home is way healthier than any restaurant.

If you're really craving pizza then make one at home, you can usually buy fresh or frozen pizza dough from your grocery bakery section. Put on some tomato sauce, cheese, and veggies (and meats if you please) and viola, de-lish pizza!

You could change up the recipe to make it basically any macros you want. My person fave is whole wheat crust (rolled super thin) with pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms, and artichoke hearts. I cook the mushrooms and the onions together before I cook the pizza. mmmm my mouth is watering =]

I made pizza last night for 200 cals, it was delicious, and sorta healthy. It was my treat meal for the week and I am completley guilt-free!

I eat Pizza occasionally - the ready to bake frozen types - I just checked and I had a quarter slice of each of two different brands - McCains and Emilia - and one had 9gms fat per slice, one 6.

Just check the nutrition values of a serve, make sure you check what a serve is, and go for pizzas with more vegies and less cheese / bacon (sob) and the fat content shouldn't be too high. You could also make your own, put the recipe into MFP and juggle the ingredients to see how it pans (boom boom) out.

This is about losing weight whilst living a real life in my opinion, so what you eat needs to be sensible, not tuna and lettuce for eternity, and as long as it comes in your allowance, and you ensure you drink lots of water due to the high sodium content, I would say go for it.

Surprise! dietary fat =/= body fat. What makes you fat is eating too many calories, often in combination with too many simple carbs.

Why not? don't be ridiculously dumb... The person ate less then 1200 calories and almost 700 was from that pizza. There won't be any weight gain!

I checked out your food journal, and just wanted to suggest that you could be eating so much healthier! Give up the fast food and all the frozen dinners and processed junk that you eat, and start eating REAL food! Prepare a bunch of food for the week on the weekend, and you'll have meals to grab just as quickly. You really need to eat breakfast every day-- like egg whites and oatmeal. That will help you eat healthy the rest of the day-- you must be very hungry to eat so little! When you eat whole foods that haven't been processed, and make it a lifestyle, then you will lose the weight and keep it off. You won't be able to maintain your weight loss once you go back to eating more calories, plus you may be setting yourself up for metabolism and health problems later in life. I hope you don't take this in a negative way, I really enjoy helping people get healthy and fit!!!
