Ladies: How would I style my hair to look like this?

Ok. So I don't really know how to do the whole hair/make-up routine. weeping.gif I guess I just never cared, since I never felt like I look good in clothes. So what was the use, y'know?

But I'd like to start now and don't really know where to begin. I also have no fashion sense whatsoever. I'll see things that look good on other girls, and I just don't know how to put it all together to look that good.

I really like the hairstyle below and don't even know what words to type into youtube to search for a tutorial. Any suggestions? please-1.gif

3in barrel curling iron. Big loose waves. Can also be done with a flat iron but its a bit trickier. Super cute!

Hi hon I am a hairstylist and you can get this look with with a straightening iron. Sounds funny, doesn't it, since it is a bit wavy, but you can. There are a lot of tutorials on youtube. Here is one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_fo0M_slb0&feature=endscreen&NR=1

Just put in "how to curl hair with a straightener"

Not sure what type of hair you have...but, if I wash my hair at night, towel dry it and go to bed with it down, and damp, it ends up looking like that it the morning, if not a little bit wavier even. Just another option

    I use a curling rod

I split my hair in to sections and curl each piece and sprits a little hair spray while each piece is curling
I do this to my whole head

And then after words, I run my hands through my hair and brush it lightly and it gives it that "soft waves" effect.

Super easy! I do it every day :)

Depending on how much natural curl your hair has or how well it will hold one, you can get waves like this by braiding your hair in a couple of big braids the night before. Just run your fingers through it or brush it out lightly until it's as soft and loose as you want it. No heat or serious damage!

    Thank you, ladies!

I have really long straight hair down my back. Will this going to bed with my hair braided work? Wouldn't it get tangled easily after I let it out?

Please take into account that I don't even know how to properly blow dry my hair out to make it look nice. no1.gif I was splitting my hair into sections like the girls in the videos, and those sections just kept falling out. I cannot even properly use a barrel brush while blow drying.

    Hahah I'm the same way!
    But I swear it's easy. :)

My hair is naturally very wavy, but I must be a wild sleeper or something because whenever I wake up after a shower the night before, its reaalllllyyyy crazy looking lolol

I just do it with a curling iron and it's made life a lot easier >.<

Easy peasy with the right product :)

Fudge do an awesome beach salt spray. Just shower and wash your hair, and whilst it's damp spray that all over (it smells deliciously coconutty too haha) and scrunch it, leaving it to dry naturally. You get that kind of hippy, beachy sort of look.

You can also spritz it on dry hair too :)

(Can you tell I'm addicted?) haha

Don't forget to ask your stylist (at a decent salon) how to do this with your hair at your next trim! And there are a lot of DIY beach hair sprays (see below). If your hair is wavy, you can spray the beach spray and scrunch! Or perhaps spray it after you attempt the curling options. I'm not great with my hair - and I find scrunching is super helpful. As is a diffuser attachment for your blow dryer. Just keep practicing! It's a great way to spend an evening in front of tv ... with a mirror and products.

    Good luck!
