I'm a little bit confused. I started eating right, exercising, drinking water & So on. I use splenda now instead of sugar. Cut out the pops & have been loosing weight. I started all this just to feel better instead of always feeling ran down & tired. Well for about 4 days I have been feeling light headed, nauseated, weak & headaches. Someone told me to check my blood sugar, so I did tonight & it was 54. So what am I doing wrong. I thought all this was suppose to make you feel better. It did at 1st in the beginning.

Start taking your blood sugar 2 hours post meals.
Also be mindful of what you eat as an extremely sugary meal will cause a crash in blood sugar.
I almost bet you're conforming to the 3 meals/day standard. Theres a disorder known as idiopathic post-prandial hypoglycemia. In lay mens, it means you get hypoglycemic after eating. Insulin is biphasic and acts within 30 minutes of eating and usually peaks again in about 2 hours after eating. If you only have low BS 2 hours post meal, then you probably have this. The solution is to eat 5 meals a day or more, making them more balanced and smaller meals and eating every 2-3 hours.
However, if you have low BS throughout the day no matter what, you may have hypoglycemia.0 -
Wow, ok. Thanks I will try the smaller meals 5 times a day like u mentioned & see how it goes from there. As far as taking my BP, that will be a prob lol. I borrowed my neighbors & I don't think she will let me use it that often. I will just look into buying one. Thank you again for the info0
