I just got done doing hiit on 8.0... and it felt really good. Tomorrow will be just ripped in 30 dvd. And some walking. I need to do some more toning workouts ...
  • I do HIIT on the treadmill with an app. I love it and can run faster and longer each time.

I have a HIIT routine I have been running for a few weeks now, but not on treadmill. Approximately 50 minutes now (i've been tweaking it a little as I'm advancing) and getting a 750+ calorie burn. I run this about 3 times a week. The rest of the week I try to do one long run, and a shorter run with a long walk at the end.

5 min. warm up (walk, slow jog)
15 sec sprint, 45 sec recovery (usually walk 30 sec, jog 15 to ramp back up) - perform set 10 times
20 min steady run (light run)
1 min sprint, 1 min recovery - perform set 5 times
    5 min cool down (walk)

    Keep up the good work!

How do you keep track of this when you are doing it?

I have the RunKeeper app on my iPhone (free app, highly recommend). I had to manually enter this routine, but I'm able to go back and tweak it and add steps, adjust times, etc.

It use the GPS on your phone to record your route, tracks miles/times, approximates calorie burn, and provides audio cues when it's time to switch from one interval to next. Also keeps a history. Probably does more than this, but this is how I use it.
