LOST
My motivation. I can't find it anywhere. I was doing so well...down 22# in a few months. Then BAM..I stopped working out. I've still been doing well(ish) in the diet area but haven't been able to lose anymore weight. I've maintained, however, which is good. But I really want to lose the last 15# by swimsuit season. And if last week is any indication in Ohio, its right around the corner.
So how do I find my motivation to work out when all I want to do is sit down and read a book?

Take your book and go sit down on the bike! Not only will your brain thank you for the escape from the real world but your body will continue to thank you for not putting back on those extra pounds. Think about it, if you sit down and curl up with a book soon you will say hmm I'm bored and hungry. You will wonder to the kitchen(which no you cannot use as exercise calories) and find something either sweet or saltly depending on your mood, not to mention a soda. Go back over to your book and become fully involved again and 3 chapters later you have eaten an intire box of crap. So go to the gym. Take your book. Get on the bike get in the groove and pedal while you read. Then the only thing you will be amlessly grabbing for is your water and you can add both water and exercise to your MFP and feel great about it!!!
Hope it works for you!
Also you may want to find an old picture of yourself 22 pounds ago and use it as a bookmark to remind yourself what you're are doing this all for!
Good luck!0 -
I like the reading a book on the exercise bike suggestion. Also, you could try putting audio books on your MP3 player or something.
Just remember, even working out a couple of times a week for 45 minutes is way better than being sedentary. Dedicate that much time and ease back into it.0 -
I hear you! It's really hard to stay motivated even when you're being successful! Get out that swimsuit and hang it some where that you'll see it every day. Get out those shorts and put them out somewhere too. Print out your "fat" pictures and use them as bookmarks! These are the little things that will remind you why your not sitting and reading a book!0
