My HRM is causing some major under the boob chafing and it hurts like a mo-fo! Any recs on which one to look at purchasing that won't cause this? I need something not too expensive that works really well. I use it to monitor calories burned so showing cals burned is a must. Thanks guys!

I have large girls, and never have this problem....you need one with a chest strap, so they will all be about the same. It sounds like you have it too loose or too tight....

Wear it just under your bra. I don't know what would cause chaffing. Maybe you're allergic to something in the material.

Make sure you wash it after use, to remove bacteria.

What HRM do you have? I'm a 36C and I have the Polar FT7 with the chest strap and it doesn't cause chaffing for me. I would assume putting it above the rim of your sports bra would defy it's purpose? Maybe it'll still be able to read your pulse? Try it. You can try putting baby powder on first and then using the chest strap?

I use a Polar with a fabric strap and have zero chafing issues. Does yours have a plastic-y strap? Maybe try some Body Glide and see if that helps before you invest in a new HRM if you otherwise like what you have.

I have the Polar FT4 and no issues but I think I remember reading something that said it contains latex so maybe you are allergic to the material?

Be careful with using powder or bodyglide on your HRM strap - you don't want to gunk up the sensors!

I'm also curious as to what brand of HRM the OP uses. I've always used Polars (F6 then FT4) and never had a chafing problem.

Are you rinsing and washing it properly? Making sure it fits properly (not too tight/loose)?

I have a Timex and no chaffing here.

I have this one-- Timex T5G971 Unisex Sports Personal Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Maybe I am putting it on too tightly and wearing it too high up? I'll play with it a bit I guess. Boob chafing sucks!

I don't have chaffing but I just don't like the strap! I would suggest looking into getting a good heart rate watch.

i wear a polar with the strap and dont have this problem. maybe you need to make sure your strap is tight enough so that it doesnt move around? i wear mine right where my bra ends, so it doesnt touch my boobs
