Why am I feeling "fat/stuffed/full"

Hi all,

I'm feeling quite confused about my diet. I'm eating quite healthy, had 2 treat days in the past three weeks, however i just feel stuffed all the time, as in "fat/overhang over my jeans".

I'm having 5-6 small meals a day and drinking a ton of water. I can't explain the feeling! It's odd. Even when I'm hungry in the pit of my stomach and have a small meal i feel bloated/expanded. Thoughts or suggestions would be great!

Ta!

Too much fiber would probably do it. I'm feeling the same way today, after eating a huge salad, chickpeas, eggplant, tomatoes, almonds and an apple.

Definitely don't go fiber free! Your body has to adjust to getting the right amount of fiber if it isn't used to it. It may take a few days but then things will start moving again and you will feel better than ever. What type of fiber are you eating (soluble or insoluble)? Make sure you are getting a mix. Hardly anyone gets too much fiber. You can also try probiotics to help with digestion.

My fibre intake daily consists of some form of muesli with oats and fruit. Apple and a Banana. Brown rice sometimes through the day or a baked taty!

It could be too much fiber. Do you know if you're lactose intolerant? Could you have celeriac disease? I once was bloated and they explored all those things and gave me some tests. I eliminated fiber (oatmeal) and substituted soy milk for cow's milk for a few weeks. They never did figure it out, but fortunately it went away eventually.

If it persists, see a doctor.

Will start to experiment and cut out some foods at different points through the week and see how I get on. Thanks for the advice. Appreciated.
