I think it washes the toxins from your body and makes you feel full. I try to drink alot but after 4bottled waters I don't want anymore,so I drink flavored waters in between. I am sure someone will say that isn't good, but it gets the fluids down....

I don't like drinking water, but I am managing about 6 glasses a day on top of my usual drinks.
I fill a pint glass when I get up and drink some everytime I go in the kitchen, starting after I go to get my coffee.
I then take a bottle of water with me out cycling or walking and drink that.
I then fill another pint glass when I get home for the evening and drink that each time I go in the kitchen to get my ordinary drinks or snacks.
It is working for me though sometimes it makes me feel very bloated and fuller than I am comfortable with.
  • I know the feeling! I seem to manage 6 glasses a day myself! It's a struggle, especially when you're not a fan of the taste of it after awhile. As much as I shouldn't, I compare my intake to my friends who drink 10 or more glasses, but I always go back to the thought..... "At least you're drinking more than you have before!" Keep it up! Looks like you're on the right track

:drinker: I have found it easier to drink more water when it's at room temp. Just a suggestion.

Water helps keep the body clean while dieting.
In the beginning its hard to drink a ton of it.
I used to get raging heartburn while drinking water.

    So anywho!

The water gets the kidneys pumping.
    Refreshes the muscles.
    Refuels the vital organs.

If you take any type of supplement and dont drink enough water/tea, the supplements simply wont work.
    Multivitamines, BCAAs, oral probiotics etc...

Its not about feeling full since the body processes the water extremely fast.
    Its about keeping everything refreshed.

Drinking water fixed pretty much all of my lower GI issues from being overweight.

If you drink water to feel "full" you probably arent eating enough calories or enough of a certain macronutrient.

Check the link on my profile and see if your dietary numbers are correct.

Water dilutes the sodium levels in your system and gets rid of water retention in your body. The level of your sodium intake is what retains water weight and that's why when you start drinking lots of water and reducing carbs the first couple days you can lose up to 2kg or more (water weight)

the other things I know are the general stuff. Rehydrates, cleanses toxins, supresses apetite etc etc

I find it super hard to drink water as well! I drink only 3-4 glasses a day and am finding it really hard to drink more. But I did find a helpful tip. I drink more water out of a bottle than from a cup because its more of a compulsive habit. I'll always want to take a swig even if its just a little bit. :) If you're up for this you can get a washable bottle rather than having to constantly buy a bottle :p and its eco friendly

There is no concrete proof that drinking water aids in weight loss.

That being said, I believe it has huge benefits in weight loss. I have used drinking water to my great advantage. It helps keep down water weight and bloating. It helps your liver and kidneys function properly. It staves off even minor dehydration symptoms. It helps with headaches (but not migraines). It helps keep your complexion clearer. Ice cold water burns calories to consume, more than warm water or hot drinks. It helps you feel fuller.

I'm an advocate of drinking 1/2 your weight in pounds as ounces of water. I drink more than that in an average day. However, if you pee pale yellow or clear, you're getting plenty of water. To help get it down, try floating citrus, cucumber or strawberry slices in a pitcher of water. It will flavor the water without adding many calories. Sometimes drinking through a straw helps!

maybe try adding a little fresh lemon juice to your water for flavor.

Another take on water. Of course dehydration isn't a good thing, but scientist say that most people do fine using thirst as a guide. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=eight-glasses-water-per-day

I toss a tea bag into my blender bottle & let it soak for a little.
I also use the room tempurature setting on the water cooler at work.

Buy a reusable glass with a straw. You drink more when drinking through a straw, don't know why but it seems to be true. Also if you get sick of regular water then you can throw some mio in it. I know there are some dies in it, but I figure there are less chemicals in this and it gets me to drink the water. Plus it has helped me kick my diet soda habit which is loaded with chemicals.
  • For me it helps if I drink water that is room temperature, i just can't seem to drink cold water anymore.

I have a water bottle, i bring it with me everywhere. Drink water in class, when im walking places, when im at work, when im at the library. If you have it with you all the time its easier. Its so much easier to focus when im well hydrated !
