Turkey and lowfat cheese sandwiches, Ham and swiss sandwiches, lean cuisines, the new pizza ones are really tasty! Romaine Lettuce with chicken salad inside,(no carb). Those are just a few things that I like :)

I mostly do leftovers from dinner. So some kind of meat and some kind of veggies. I think these are tastier and healthier than things like Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice because they have a lot less sodium and a lot less carbs.

You can't go wrong with a salad. I just throw some salad in a large ziplock and I am out the door! (I keep an extra thing of salad dressing at work in the fridge)

Peanut butter sandwiches, low sodium lunch meat sandwiches, low sodium soups, chili, salads, whole grain crackers and/or veggies with cheese or hummus, cottage cheese, tuna, grilled chicken breast, whole wheat pasta with olive oil and veggies. I try to keep the processed frozen dinners to a minimum but once and awhile I like Lean Cuisines and MorningStar veggie burgers.

oatmeal!! LOL it's high in fibre and keeps you full. easy to keep in the desk and just add water!
Also I love my boxed soups like knorr Autumn vegetable soup with real cream, and I keep a container of frank's red hot sauce in the wokr fridge... makes a bland soup.. interesting and keeps it low calorie enough to be good for you

Same here. Last night I made soup beans w/ham and fresh biscuits and a side of asparagus. Today for lunch - nice serving of the beans, 1 biscuit, last of the asparagus. About 400 calories, all real, all mine, and good good good.

I try to do leftovers most of the time, but do keep a box of Special K Protein bars in my desk in case I don't have time to make something. Cottage cheese, a tomato and a hard boiled egg is also a favorite.

Do you have a Trader Joes there? Their salads are great and they have a lot of low-fat varieties. Today i'm having their reduced fat chinese chicken salad....310 calories with dressing.

But i swear by their low-fat greek - 140 calories including dressing!

But where is your protein? Protein helps maintain the sugar levels, so you don't crash later from all the carbs.

Where did you get this smoke free banner from? It's cool :) And most importantly, good for you!
  • I'm pretty boring, I just do oatmeal every day for lunch. But it helps me to keep more calories for dinner.

How do you keep the ham & beans good for the next day? Mine always turn out mushy.

I make a low-fat version of chicken salad at home on the weekends, using low-fat mayonnaise, virtually sin free with curry powder, chopped raisins and celery!!! Egg salad also works.

Can of tuna mixed with 1 tablespoon of Kraft light mayo
    9 Breton brand crackers
Super yummy, only 15 carbs (5 carbs per serving which is 3 crackers). Great source of protein!

I really love the Lean Cuisine chicken, mushroom and spinach panini sandwiches

Cottage cheese with sliced tomato and avocados

container of light and fit yogurt (banana cream pie is good) , a whole banana cut up, and all bran bran buds mixed in for lotssssss of fiber! Its like a healthy version of a parfait. It's also like 200 cals...10 grams of protein and over 50% of your daily fiber. \

    yummyyyy

also cheap! yogurts are on-sale lately for like 50-60 cents a cup! Bananas at 59 cents a pound!
  • My husband and I like making salads with chicken and fruit. I do a few cups of spinach (or other lettuce), shredded chicken (I buy premade packages), diced apples, diced strawberries, and whatever else sounds good. Other stuff I've added: sliced grapes, carrots, tomatoes, dried cranberries & almonds. With strawberries I like it so much I can skip the cheese and dressing but if you choose to use them just pick healthy versions. I like fat free feta cheese and Kraft Fat Free dressings. Then I usually cut up a bunch of fruit to take also (just watch the sugar content of some fruits.)

Another recipe I like is 2 slices of wheat bread with a slice of low fat or fat free cheddar cheese and sliced tomatoes and red peppers (even better if you can put it in the oven for a few minutes).

Whole Kernel Corn, Canned, 0.25 cup
Joseph's -Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Flour wrap
    Black Beans, 1/2 cup
San Pedro's - Fresh Mild Salsa, 2 tbs
    Handful of lettuce
50% Reduced Fat Cheddar - Cheese,
Joseph's -Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Flour wrap

so filling, and so tasty.. only about 300 calories and 25 grams of protein!! tastes almost as good as a burrito. You could always take the cheese out to make it a little better for you.

  • I like toasted tomato or cucumber sandwiches with fat free cream cheese on country harvest flax bread. I find I am full afterwards and am not tempted to snack.

the other lunch i like is plain rice cakes with roasted garlic hummus and carrot/celery sticks (That one is a bit easier to pack)

this salad won't go soggy, even if you make it the night before.

    chopped:
cucumbers, red onions, yellow bell peppers, cherry tomatos, chunks of grilled chicken
small bit of lowfat crumbled feta
mix in with WHITE balsalmic, and a tiny bit of evoo, and put some spices on top sat and pepper, and I use this italian mixed spice grinder i have

this makes a great greek-tasting salad, but you could probably mix it up with other variations of cheese and dressing. the point is that it's all veggies and lean protein...

The call cnotent depends on the measurements of feta, evoo, and chicken... the rest is virtually cal-free (though you should still log!)
