Can you lose weight with using the MFP calories burned per e

I have been noticing a huge difference between what my gym elliptical machine says are the calories that I burned during a workout and how much the MFP says that is burned during a workout. I'm noticing several people agreeing that MFP's exercises in the database are on the high side.

Is anyone using the MFP's calories per exercise and consistently still using weight? I don't want to sabotage myself here by using the numbers of MFP and find out I'm eating too much.

I used to use their and would minus about 200-300 off of what MFP says. But now that I have a HRM I feel alot better knowing for sure how many calories I am burning while exercising.

I have used MFP exercise calories unless I am plugging my weight into the machine. I use the calories the my runkeeper app calculates as it uses my weight and takes into consideration the hills I run or walk on. I typically eat back some of my calories and have been able to lose 30 pounds.

MFP doesn't give me enough:( When I put my weight on the machines and do the workout and then input it into MFP it is always off between 25-50 calories...I usually go between the two because MFP doesn't know what level I am walking and diff things...they do mention to go by machines if you input your weight, but are they right? who knows...some people say not!! IDK

What percentage of calories would you say you eat back?

Looking over my last week usually between 50% and 75%. It is frustrating that as I have lost weight I have to workout longer to get the same calorie burn. I am now shifting into maintenance and increasing my strength training to tone up what is left.
