Soo if you officialy weigh in once a week, do you ever bring out the scales mid week just to 'check' how your getting on?

I used to do it all the time! It got to the point where i was on the scales after every meal!, I got sooo annoyed that the numbers on the scales were constantly jumping up and down, that I have to give the scales to my mum every sunday morning once I've weighed myself! She hides them from me ..

I got quite obsessive over the scales, like really bad!

But i actually feel soo much better for not doing this anymore! I think once a week is enough!

I'm an adult, I weigh whenever I want to. I don't need to be sneaky about it.

I weigh n every Thursday morning, but I do get on the scale a few other mornings each week. I like to keep track of where I am.

    For me this works!

I haven't gotten to the point of weighing after meals, but I have recently started weighing more often :[. I guess I'm just anxious to see my weight come off already, lol. But The most I weigh myself would be about two-three times a week. I only log on MFP my weigh-in number from Wednesdays though because I feel that number would be more "stable" than logging every other days weight, you know? :]
  • I'm sneaky like that, but I know that the number I see on the one day that I call my weigh-in day is the real number.

Can you believe, though, that Dr. Oz recommends weighing yourself every day? I read an article he wrote about 10 things you should remember to do while dieting. One of them was to weigh yourself every day and to keep track of every number you see, no matter if it goes up down sideways or backward. That just seems so wrong after everything I've ever read about healthy weightloss. Weighing yourself every day won't give you accurate numbers. At least that's what I've found!

Absolutely! I can't have a scale in the house, or I'll weigh pretty much obsessively.

So, my girlfriend and I weigh at the gym every Monday. Sometimes, when we hit the showers, I'll attempt to sneak out to the locker room for a mid-week weigh. She always catches me, and tells me that it isn't Monday. :P

As an added bonus, if I don't like the mid-week numbers, I just pretend that it never happened.

I do, but I tell myself it doesn't count unless I like what I see!

I had to limit myself to once a week because I was getting frustrated and discouraged with the numbers jumping up and down.

I weigh every morning. I know some say it's unhealthy, but I'm a damn adult and I know what I'm doing.

Really, though.. I do it to check my progress. I don't get stressed when it goes up. I know if I weight at night I could be as much as 5 pounds heavier than I was in the morning. I don't stress. I just nod and say "It's nighttime, stupid." and get off the scale.

hmm... I don't really like weighing in at all because it's very misleading. Some days I'm much heavier due to water retention be it sodium related or workout related, lack of bowel movement (yeah, it's gross but it adds up), muscle gain.... I find that the scale is not really a great way to tell if I'm reaching my goals. I prefer to look in the mirror and see what muscle groups I can see versus two weeks ago. This way I can make note of my weightlifting progress as well as fat loss. Don't obsess too much about the scale. I would suggest trying to have goals like running for a particular distance/time, or getting up to a certain poundage when lifting. this way you can show real improvement to yourself.

I never got to the point of doing it after meals but I did have to weigh in daily until I finally forced myself to stay off the scale for a month. The first week was hell but it got easier and by the time the month was up I almost forgot it was time to weigh in. It really gave me the chance to focus on how I felt not what the scale said and feeling up or down because of that. I no longer have a regular weigh in day- I tend to forget to do it  When I do remember it's the same time of day (first thing in the morning) wearing the same lack of clothing :blushing: but I find I care much less about what the scale says and it has less control over my emotions which makes everybody around me much happier.

I weigh morning and night. Mostly for the fun of it. At night I look to see what I might be in the morning, and in the morning I see if I was right. I only log a weight on the full kilo when I've been there for at least two days. I might hop on during the day before a shower to see how much it went down from before breakfast. Yes...down. My lowest weight is about 11:30am. Don't ask me why.

I don't weigh myself because I don't have scales. So the other day when I was round my sisters, I had a sneaky jump on her scales. I haven't recorded the number, because I was so impressed with it that I was sure it had to be wrong lmao. And since I tagged onto the "no weighing in March" post, I've decided to wait it out another week or so, then get myself some scales to see if that number is still going to make me happy.

I am actually very good about not weighing or measuring, I just figure that eventually I'll like how I look, numbers don't bother me. The only numbers I can be bothered to keep an eye on is calories in vs calories out, and I think that's way more important in the long run!

I usually forget to weigh myself. So I gave up the weigh in day. I always weigh myself in the morning when I am " empty" and I don't worry if the scales flux a few pounds up and down. It is normal. When I have had a brutal workout week, I hold water due to the creatine and water that it keeps in my body. All part of the plan.

Since there are weeks where I see a zer0 loss, and my pants are getting loose, I use the scales as one of many tools to tell me how I am doing. I do have a weight goal, but it is more of a guide than goal. I would have no problem weighing 400 lbs if I was at 6% body fat.
